I believe the god Marfik was designed with exactly that premise in mind, but people will be people, and the folks in Marfik decided to maintain the drunken fool RP.

I don't think anyone thought about pompous mercenaries who pretended to be knights and wanted to be overlords of anything when the concept of Dulrik was introduced but that didn't stop anyone from doing it. People will be people after all.
