Get rid of all forms of Detect Aura/Alignment Spells?

I personally think that this whole thing of, "You are not the same color as me, die!" Is getting more than pathetic. If we remove all spells that detects a person's alignment/aura then people would be judged by their actions and not their aura. For the cabals where it is mandatory to be a certain alignment/aura, have a special room where the leader can cast a spell to do it.

I think it's far too late to close this bag of worms. Considering, too, that sk's alignments do not slide, but are static - There really isn't too much of a problem with this sort of thing. If you have issues with the actions following the usage of that spell, take it up with the people doing it.

Didn't this discussion just happen a while ago? There was a long thread with quite a few good ideas in it. Such as instead of detect aura, paladins get detect evil. Priests get know alignment but not a blanket see-all detect aura.

In the end it wasn't really an issue so the discussion just sort of died down. There's probably bigger fish to fry in SK. Besides, if someone attacks based on color, rare as it is, there are many IC consequences for that character.

I had a char that refused to use those two spells. "I don't want my prejudices to get in the way of my duty." That char never begrudged anyone else the right to use them.

Don't like the spells? Don't use them. But don't tell everyone else they can't use them.

Keep them, just add a few conceal aura type items to the game (scrolls or potions or the like).

As I have said before, Detect Aura spells are fine as they are. It's the players' stupidity that often put them to bad use.
