I would rather see some other ability that might go off on a dual backstab. ie: Bleeding (loses hp each round), Slow effect, or something similar. This wound only be a chance and maybe goes off on a critical or something.

I think eparry is the one thing a rogue needs to balance them out.

Except rogues are already balanced? Only thing a rogue can't kill is a barb, and they might have problems with mercs. Want to make them the anti-class of the entire game, sure, give them more defense!

Every class should be able to kill every other class.
What makes them so balanced?
Your ability to kill revolves around two things. Backstab and the type of material your dagger/pigsticker is made of and/or damage type to better exploit your enemies weakness and reciting a scroll immediately afterwards. Or recite followed by a backstab depending on the scroll.

They are NOT just a flanking class. Far from it.
For them to get MORE defense, they would first have to have something worth calling a defense.
They have NO defense what-so-ever. Give them a little bit of defense.

[REDACTED]. Are you saying rogues can't kill every other class? They sure as hell can. Rogues are already one of the top-end classes, they don't need any buffs, and sure as hell not e-parry.

1. Rogues can flee just fine. You even get the nice bonus of not losing XP, yay! Tip: Eparry isn't meant for running away, it's meant to make you die slower than the opposition, aka winning a straight up fight.
2. Rogues aren't tanks. They do in a pinch against NPCs, and against -some- pcs (especially with the right enchants/buffs), but that is not what they were meant for.
3. You deal some sick damage with circle stabs and hamstrings even mangle legs.
4. You get scrolls, so stop whining if you think they are necessary. Befriend a sorc if you don't want to wait to get pre-fabbed ones.
5. If you feel that you can't kill someone because they are the bane of your class...why not get assistance? You're not meant to be some avenging god of destruction, laying waste to all who dare oppose them.

Did I miss anything?

If we're talking about rogues, can they flee in any direction they specify? They should be able to - much like retreat, but they don't need to be in a party and nobody comes with them.

Yeah, while I hate to admit this, the aussie hit it on the head. That's a pretty good suggestion, and if rogues are deemed elegible for a buff, this should be it... _If_ they are.
