Algon did make one of the first (if not the first) subtype comparison lists. He was also being sarcastic, if that eluded you.

That some subtypes end up as more or less "The Best" is disappointing. I kind of like that landsknechts are badass. Maybe it's a phallic thing, maybe I'm compensating. But if anything I think it would be interesting to see extra attributes as per the other thread, rather than a landsknecht nerf and a halberd buff or something. Way back in the day, the worth of a weapon seemed to come from what epic NPC was holding it. Nowadays it comes from if it's one of the best accepted subtypes. I almost prefer the former...

Geeze. You guys realize that a cleave is a strong, straight line slice, right? Vertical, Horizontal, diagonal, whatever. It's a straight cut. If you tried doing that with a scythe, you'd either smack someone with the blunt end (Not a cleave!) or you'd likely get the pointy part of the scythe blade embedded in the person's flesh. (Also not a cleave.) Taking limbs off with a scythe requires more spinny action than brute force.

I can see if they were swinging it like a baseball bat, that it could make some heads roll.

You'd just hit them with the stick and probably yourself with the blade if you did that.

The cleave skill leaves it up the imagination really how a cleave is performed. It's not something that is set in stone.

I guarantee you that a straight cut can be provided by each and every weapon on the current cleave list. Yes, even a pigsticker - though I have no idea why anyone would want to do one with that.

Have you even wielded a scythe? You can only move it in straight line motions. It only moves in straight slashing attacks.
