There's a very simple solution to your problem:
When you are about to go to an area when poison/plague is a common thing to happen, always carry the proper vials with you. It's as simle as that. They are extremely easy to be found, even if you can't have someone brew for you, many of them are storebought.
Weakening the affects of poison/plague etc would be a horrible nerf for all classes that are based on maledictions, from necros to hellions. I would not like to see them nerfed.
Hey genius, if you ICly have no clue about said places then you wouldn't carry such items. Unless of course we all use OOC info like yourself.
Hey genius, perhaps that's why EXPLORING is considered essential in an RPG game, and if you can figure out that a potion sold in a LARGE city's main market is called "draught for sickness" (Name of potion altered slightly so no IC info is spread here) you REALLY must be a genius, right?
Or...
Calling for a priest to brew you some potions or identify the ones you found where you train... Oh, no, wait! That calls for interaction, doesn't it? Who on earth wants interaction in an RPG game?!?! Cause as we all know, only through OOC you can find out what is going on in this game!!!
You are utterly lame, calling out for things that you probably do yourself and try to put the blame on others. Now go home and cry in your corner.
