is there any particular reason why bards do not get shield block ?

Bards are not meant to be in the front row of combat which is why they get tumble. If bards got shield block they would be significantly more powerful than they are now.

they get tumbling... and its obvious they shouldn't be tanking so i dont think they should get it.
