Now it has been up for discussion for some time that races are imbalanced and that certain races in warrior classes simply do not make any sense (which should making sense) compared to other races.

My idea is as topic implies - introduce weapon speed differences between races.
Dexterity base should not have influence in determining what speed a race should have, as say centaurs have low dexterity because of their cumbersome horse body, but remain fast due to their human body. Dwarves would be quite fast as they have short arms. Giants would be slow due to their size etc.
This should all give greater flexability to the character you want to create, and allow the races with warrior heritage like the dwarves and centaurs to make more sense again as well.

Thank you for your attention :drunk:

Giants need a huge melee nerf in speed.

It's true.

well giants are supposed to be the dominate race in melee. If you nerf their speed you basically take away the only thing they are good at. They make crap casters after all.

I beat the crap out of plenty of giants in melee with slayne, im not sure I agree.

I think the system is fine how it is.

The nerf to their speed should not be all that great, and their size dmg modifier as it is now should make them dominent as the heaviest dmg givers still. Different weapon speeds on races should introduce different approaches to fighting though, as the would probably not be using the same weapons to utilize their speeds and damage capability.
Besides, giants have plenty of innate skill to make up for the slight nerf.

Sprites have an extra attack because they're so small.

Giants don't need a nerf in weapon speed. Just target them with a weaken spell or whatever. They already suffer through massive weight requirements to wear size giant equipment and they're supposed to dominate in melee combat anyway, that's their strength.

If anything you just need to start using the slow spell more. Which I wish that sorcerers got as well.
