I wasn't exactly sure where to post this but I have read countless threads on this site and have noticed there hasn't been an paladin council or any sort of meeting lately. Now I don't know if that is because of the decline in shattered kingdom's player base or just because the old paladins deleted/died though I would like to start it again. Anyway back to the point I have already PMed a few people and gotten Immortal approval but a few things before I try to set it up.

1. I would like to know if inactive people could find time in their schedules to try to come to it. (II am more then willing to work around any schedule disagreements)
2. If anyone could PM on how they would like it to be set up that would be great
3. I am going to try to post stuff on the astral boards so I do not get in trouble doing this.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to go about it?

The Council of Paladins has always had its ups and downs. It seems to do best when there are strong priests of light within it as well. There is much more diversity of paladins now, so that will be like herding cats. Still, in times past is has been fun.

Good luck - and don't get your hopes up.

There has never been a good meeting of the Paladin Council since I joined this game, unless it happened during a month I was inactive. There have been one or two meetings that weren't so bad as all that, and a few ones which never had enough support to mean anything and mostly involved twinkish bickering.

Good luck organizing it! It's the right kind of thing to attempt. On the other hand, don't get your hopes up too much as there will likely be a lot of bickering and not a whole lot of anything useful to come out of it unless you have a really strong guiding principle.

Nothing, nothing, and a whole lot of nothing. Some paladins even complained about not liking the idea of a Council. *cough* Greek bastards.

The Paladin Council exists only as a Roleplaying Idea. It's nothing solid.

There have been various times when several paladins tried to revive it, and even more times it was disbanded or created.

I remember one time where Ain Dulrik Alshain churches argued about structure, leadership and goals in one meeting.

My last Paladin in the Council was Kalaron, as single member after 1 Dulrician and 2 Ainite Paladins deleted. This was a couple of years ago, I dont know if anything happened since.

When Kalaron died, there were no Paladins willing or available to continue the council at any degree.

If you would like to engage into a roleplaying of re-forming the Palaidin Council, I wish you luck and a LOT of patience. It's a good general idea that has seldom come into play at all.

As with knighthoods and squiring, part of the problem, and part of the fun, is that each of the three paladin churches, and each successive generation of followers in those churches, has a different idea as to what the Paladin Council is and what it should be.

It carries no authority other than what it can persuade others to invest in it, and it competes from a position of weakness for loyaty against the often conflicting ties of church, kingdom and cabal.

On the other hand, if the difficulties all this suggests were enough to put you off pursuing it's resurrection as an IC goal, you probably wouldn't be playing a paladin anyway

I always envisioned the Midnight Council as a sort of Hellion Council.

I suppose that the Hammer could serve as a sort of Paliden's council too, but I never got that sense of it.

I'm not sure what Paliden rp is like these days, but it might be good to initate a crusade or to trade mentoring advice. Maybe just a get together to discuss the evils in the world and who's looking after what and how does one call the others for help.
