I expected to be put in prison, but not all my equipment being take - though my ignorance is obviously my failing... but, they took all my money too (stored in a container).

Would it not be possible for a check to be made, so if it takes equipment it doesn't take other things too? It is a little annoying when you are at a low level and all your money is taken when it shoudn't be.

If they take your equipment then I'm not sure why you should be surprised they took your bag.

I am not complaining about it taking my equipment or the laws that are meted out. I handed myself in. Neither am i complaining about equipment being taken.

I am asking if a check can be added so that coins in containers are returned. The punishment is "all equipment" not "everything". Likewise, if the fine is a single piece of equipment I don't think containers should be the target.

The reason I ask is that taslamar is a light city and when a punishment is meted out, it seems odd that they get you on a technicality.

Code doesn't care if there's money in your container.

If thats the only crime he suffered, I also think thats a bit steep. If your guilty of one crime AND you turn yourself in, you should just suffer a day in jail. Or, maybe jail + one none container item, (unless thats all your carrying)...

Im with Cyra, dont change it. Eventually you will get smart and learn ways to handle it yourself. Hell, you can lose nothing if you really wanted to. Its not a hard to save your gear when turning yourself in.
