What the hell is everyone's problem. Am I the only one who sees the problem with this? BARBARIANS AND PALADINS ARE GOING ETHEREAL.

Well, maybe you don't get it.

WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE
WE DON'T CARE

I realize that mages, when bounty NPCs could not go ethereal, would spawn a bunch of law NPCs that would clear out tribunal accounts. There is a solution that does require more coding, but if you made the NPCs that spawn to a person's location a mage, then it would make IC sense and it wouldn't bash kill and full loot the person would took a few steps into a enemy land.

Uhhh . . .You made the thread and we responded. I know that you don't like the response, but if you were only expecting people to agree with you, then you shouldn't of posted.

You didn't agree with me or disagree with me. You came here and you said "I DONT CARE". I made this thread for people who do care. If you don't care, leave.

Lets try to make this a constructive thread that doesn't just correct OOC bugs but also corrects IC bugs which is the fact that magical griffons that can bash are going ethereal. Enough with the flaming please.

Instead of going about this in the slack-jawed manner that's been taken up by all parties, let's stop a moment and look at this rationally.

DeReshad is angry and exploding right now and I'm sure we can all relate, so don't start with the trolling and the flaming just yet. I'm sure his post is just an angry outburst over being surprise looted at coding which doesn't make sense to an old player returning or even a new player. After all, barbarians going ethereal is a little wierd.

He is right in a way though, but for the wrong reasons.

Now, the ethereal form coding of the tribunal bounty NPCs spawning was put in for a reason and it was a VERY good reason. This was done to keep ethereal mages from running around kingdoms and spawning guards until the city coffers were completly drained. It was encoded to stop this because, well essentialy, it was the easiest and best way to do so that was thought up at the time.

We've all grown to accept this patch as natural, but let's not forget that that's all it was at the time, a patch to stop a code abuse.

We've new coding now that prevents mages from doing this same thing. Tribunal bounty NPCs do not costs kingdoms money unless they are killed. So a mage going ethereal and running around the kingdom spawning guards can no longer drain the coffers like they once could.

This code change can now be reassed as to whether it is still needed or not. Knowing that it's not necassarily a needed patch anymore to fix an old code abuse, do we honestly need it still?

This would make perfect sense and allow for the removal of ethereal NPCs that get summoned. It is hard to do anything in a banished area. When I'm not ethereal and in the 3rd row I get axes thrown at me, when I am ethereal I get barbarians bashing me.

If I could give you +karma here, I would.

I second the motion.

Fields of Taslamar is not a law area

Unfortunately, as I have discovered the hard way, a certain extent of the wilderness is covered by the law of the Kingdom.

ONLY expect to fight ethereal is a mage/bard/rogue.

I agree with this. DeRashad isn't arguing that there shouldn't be ethereal NPCs spawning to catch outlaws, but only that they should be classes that are actually capable of going ethereal. Mage class bounty hunters spawning in a mass are still going to deter a lone, ethereal player character anyway.

I understand however this would require two different bounty hunter NPCs, or something. Either this or as TheCannibal suggested, maybe they don't need to spawn ethereal any more.
