Keepers admittiedly aren't that great vs warlocks. But they are still quite excellent, especially the unique NPCs.

...lets not derail this thread though.

Adepts are fine, but destined to fail. They will never create the end of the world.

Hammer can never destroy all the darkness.

MC cannot take over the world.

Come to think of it, SK is just a series of pre-destined failures.

They are fine in concept but I think their skills need to be modified to be more on par with everyone else. You need a blend of character types to be able to compete in the CRS world, and Adepts have nothing to attract warrior types at all. Coming from an ex-adept giant merc... their skill set is quite lacking for any non-casting classes.

My Adept giant scout used [Adept spell #1], [Adept spell #2]and [Adept spell #3] on a regular basis, back when Smaggles was running things. He even found some great scout pets to [Adept spell #3]. Spells can be lots of fun for non-casters who wouldn't ordinarily get any.

Then again, these spells may have been tweaked in the last few years to make them nearly unusable by non-casters, dunno. Maybe art wasn't implemented yet?

People aren't joining cabals just for the extra skills anyway, right? They join for the RP?

I'm not saying I'm against tweaking the Adept skillset to make it more useful to melee types -- I think I could support that -- but I don't remember it being totally useless, either.

Peace,
Bux

That was pre-art, bux. I had Pellaeon back then.
EDIT: I got my hellions switched up.

Leave this out of Gameplay, please?

You had to start off the thread with that too. >_<

That IC info is as common as knowing there are peacekeepers or Talons. Everyone knows.

Do you know how many people refused to join exactly because Corathir lead? That wasn't a fault with the Tribinual, and I've more often seen Keepers bereft of members than Talons.

I've already admitted I'm not an expert on the Talons. From the outside looking in I've only ever seen a deadish cabal. They've been on again off again dead forever.

While I wouldn't necessarily be the one to know, I don't have reason to believe any abnormal amount (nearly every leader is avoided by some, and I'm not saying that just to protect my pride) of people avoided the Talons because of me. Most of my time leading was with one, yes, one active Talon. You don't get much more empty than that. This isn't about me OR the Talons, though.

Numbers do not determine a group's worth in SK. It's all about potential - if the Adepts as they are or were no longer have the capacity to do what they do, then a change is in order. I don't know what's going on, really, but I don't see much reason for the Adepts to stop existing - this just presents a new opportunity for them to come back, perhaps with a different face, and with even more history behind their backs.

This is off-topic, but is there a suggested means of getting a cabal/tribunals attention? With Othet I took a "if the RP fits the cabal will come to you" approach, with minimal results. Suggestions?

The most "public" cabals and most tribunals expect you to come to them. The most private cabals kill you if you ask. So it depends.

Othet,

If your roleplay fits, if you're active and solid at all times in your roleplay, and if the right people see you doing it, the cabal/tribunal will come to you.

Aerlyn had no intention of being an Adept, for instance.
