I've been rewarded once by another PAR, and rewarded another PAR once. Neither of them were for particularly huge interactions, but there's times when you just can't help but reward somebody because of how much you enjoyed spending time with them.

I've seen no evidence of abuse within the reward system, and I find it amusing when such is suggested.

Gremlin, when I have seen a certain set of players get par only after being at least cursed once or twice for bad rp, has me suspicious on the reliability of PAR. I don't think any char that has been cursed should be allowed PAR within one irl year of the curse.

I think PAR is biased, or can be. I try to emote the night away. I think I have been enlightened, once? Is there some special code I have to look up on a game cheat site, to get rewarded? :o

I almost never get rewards from other PARS when I have a flag. I get imm ones but that's it.

If you seek it, they will not come.

I've actually requested to not be rewarded so that others can have the opportunity.

I get told to shut up and take it. :(

Getting enlights is often about being noticed. In general, I don't get that many enlights with my characters because they tend to be quiet, reserved characters that don't stand out. That doesn't mean they're good, just that they're often unnoticed. Try to be more active in RPs and you'll find they come more frequently.

Also, the way your use your character is important. Minimal use of OOC is very important, and good English often makes PARS notice you more. Doesn't mean you can never make a typo, but follow the rules of English as best as you can. Capitalize the first letter of a sentence, capitalize proper nouns etc etc. (Don't get me wrong, you certainly can get away with slang like "We should go get 'em", but make sure your consistent with this....)

The last thing, people who join into RPs often get noticed and will get enlights for solid RP, but people who create RP tend to get them more.

... Just a few tips.

Muktar: The system isn't perfect. If a cursed PAR keeps the hours and rewards up, PAR is maintained. That's just the mechanics of the system. I wouldn't have a problem with a curse automatically stripping PAR, however. Perhaps that should be third on the list. Thoughts?

Dharkk: It's not about emotes. In my mind, there's two kinds of rewards. Those for specific events, and those for general RP. I tend to give out more for general RP - if you've played consistently (not in terms of hours), within your alignment and concept, staying IC, and produced some fun, creative, or interesting interactions/dialogue, that pretty much is all I ask for.

Emotes have very, very little to do with making you more fun to interact with. I pull out emotes when it enhances what I'm trying to communicate - not as a means to communicate. I dislike emote-spamming quite fiercely, and if it's obvious you're just trying to put on a show, then I'm not interested. This is why having a defined character concept is important. If you don't know why your character is saying what he's saying, you're as lost as the person that tries to understand you. Emoting more doesn't remedy that.

*Am I to assume there's no such thing as 'roll-over' rewards? I wouldn't think it good/right to bank up a pile of 'em, but 2-3?

*I would also be in favor of either a midnight reset, or a feep on the
reward command w/o argument that adds an extra line:
You will be able to reward someone again at <system time>.
(A player with a client could set some kind of trigger to grab/remind.)

SK Character: That'd be telling
I have been rewarded by other PARs once or twice as a PAR, but as a general rule I made sure I only rewarded none PAR characters. Also, if there were a few people who I thought were deserving, then newbies came first, lowbies second and experienced players were last. I kept a list and there were quite a few people who I never got to enlight before I lost the flag, but most often it was because I tried to use it as an aid to encourage the newbies and lowbies. I don't know if that is correct, but it is what I did.

I think the system works fine, though midnight reset would be nice.
