Just like to point out that I'd -never- play a deep-elf here. And if I were to play a necromancer (which I won't, that class is an abomination now), it would be a human, hands down.

There's nothing on this mud that could make me play a deep-elf for any class. Not sorcerer, not warlock, not necromancer, not hellion, not scout, not swash, not anything.

But I would play an elven warlock, or an elven bard, or an elven paladin, or an elven sorcie.

But not as a deep-elf. I don't like insta-dying to everything.

The only thing deep-elves are good for are their impressive concentration, which is only useful as a necromancer, which would be great - if a single BoG or HW or even color spray didn't smear you across the ground.

The only time spells such as these have not bothered me was when I was wearing Thuban's sacred suit, which has anywhere from 5 MP up on each piece, putting my MP well above 50, which brought color spray's damage down to 3%. BoG still did 15-25% easy.

Hi, I played a deep-elf, and they're not as weak as all of you are making them out to be.

Sure they can be raped when they're hit by spells when they have no saves. But that's not an argument. Anybody will get raped by spells when they have no saves.

Quit ignoring a part of the system and then complaining that a race you're playing is too weak.

Fight prepared! There are many ways to prevent spell-casting, and several ways to counter color spray (blindness effect) and bolt of glory (taunt effect).

You played a deep-elf necro, and hardly played it.

I played a drow (note drow) necro for far longer and never had an ounce of the issues of being bolted/colorsprayed/iron-arrowed to death as exists nowadays.

I simply won't ever play the race, it's unbalanced and not particularly worth it.

I played the character for 17 weeks straight. That's about 4 months. Then I got bored with the sheer overpoweredness of the class.

I never had any problems with bolt of glory or color spray either. I think Goldilocks was hitting me with 4-5% bolts. And Peso's only ever managed to hit a 15% long after I had stopped caring about the character and didn't have the same saves and enchants against Goldilocks.

Quit whining that Dulrik isn't handing you the mud on a silver platter.

Peyron wasn't a GM paladin. When I deleted him he was barely Champion, so you were only getting hit with Master level bolts when I tangled with you. That's not a good reference.

I agree that playing a deep elf is for RP reasons and only.

It just seems absurd that deep elves have lower wisdom and charisma than a human?

Who ever said that being evil was wise or made one charismatic? Actually, I agree that the stats on delfs are too low though
