I received a ramdom tell yesterday...

Quote:
xxxx tells you 'Tell me, do all necromancers attack people for no reason? You are of the light are you not?'

You reply to xxxx 'I am of the light, I cannot speak for all, but aye, most I have met do.'

xxxx tells you 'I see... pity that they are scaring off newcomers to this world'

So after an ooc tell or two, it transpires that this person is new to sk and was killed without any real reason. I have purposefully excluded both the killer and the victim because I am not meaning to point fingers at either, just use it as an example.

I am not waving a holier then thou flag about either, because I have recently done exactly this and it was dealt with by an IMM. I posted it here just to remind people to spare a thought before killing lowbies / newbies.

That was me. :D

I loved every damned moment of it. Enmity for the win. And no, I didn't kill him.

oh - then forget I said anything, they gave the impression they were 'killed'... I knew who it was, never even thought about the emnity thing.

edit: I should use my brain every once in a while... enmity played no part in this.

That's right kids. Its polite to send an OOC tell to someone you are going to involve in a PvP battle. If you don't know your enemies name, perhaps its best to retreat, regroup, and do some recon.

For one that has been in town raiding parties, where the group kills anything that moves. It is polite to send anyone your char doesn't know a tell telling them that it wasn't personal and it was a raid of sorts. If you know the person you killed was newbish, most definitely do something to show that it wasn't personal and doesn't happen all of the time.
