I want one. Is there a reason why halflings can't be sorcs?

I guess it's the hobbit image. They don't seem the types to go into such a mentally demanding field. (Not that they're dumb, but that they're a little too lazy.)

Yes, they can be necromancers, but I tend to include necromancy as a short-cut: dealing with unclean spirits for power, rather than gathering it entirely through one's own effort. YMMV, of course.

Hurm. I would like to hear a genuine reason this was not allowed, or why people think it should not be. Forsooth's answer while possibly legitimate, seems to perpetuate a closed-minded view. Halflings do differ from hobbits, so why not here, too? I vote yes.

I had never really associated halflings with hobbits. The help file isn't very revealing about halfling personality. It says their obsessive and selfish. Doesn't really sound like a hobbit to me. Sounds like a really short human.

That's what we should be avoiding. There's no point in having different races unless the races are truly different. That sentiment should go beyond attributes to culture.

Learn the history of magic in SK. Sorcerors are watered down necromancers. Halflings have always been blessed by necromancy. Why would any halfling want to water down their coolness.

I voted yes, more race/class combos are always welcome.

And I admire the logic that allows griffons to be sorcerors but not halflings.

Halfling barbarians are all that are needed in the game.
