Is there a specific reason you're only allowed to call for a mentor in your homeland? It's hard for a newbie to travel around, so when they're in a different kingdome leveling it sucks to have to go back to their homeland to call out for a mentor. Plus, if there aren't any mentors of your particular class in your kingdom you would have the chance to call out to mentors of different kingdoms.

How hard is it to type recall to get free teaching ? You can be mentored in any inn and newbie zone. If you dont want to go home use either Tells or says to find a mentor to help you. A few reasons for only being able to call for a mentor in your home nation, Its your newbie zone instructor that passes your request on, the instructor in another nation isnt going to know you your class etc. It also lets people know this also lets mentors know where to find you. Generally speaking like minds are found in the same nation a mentor is meant to do more than just teach skills for free.

I'll go along with Silmar, though for slightly different reasons. The mentor command is meant to help true SK newbies. Arguably, people advanced enough to train in other kingdoms aren't raw newbies anymore. (I'm not sure a typical newbie could even -find- the inn in another kingdom.)

The only exception to this I can think of off-hand: A mentor dumping a newbie into a foreign kingdom for training, without showing the newbie basic functions like recall, or even giving them that kingdom's language skill. That's a problem with the mentor, not the mentor ability.
