Although perhaps on the right track, I think that method would overcomplicate things and result in a lot more work for the IMMs. Adjusting the weapons and their a/d/s values however would not be difficult from my limited understanding.

Id like to see some of the "lesser" weapons in the hands of more skilled fighting classes getting other perks to make them more interesting, for example staves getting a bonus to the trip skill perhaps a blade staff a bonus to blitzkrieg, great swords giving a bonus to Berserl/Fury. Little things that will not only change the interest in the weapon sub type but also alter how the warrior might be best served using the weapon.

Thank you for adding absolutely nothing to the discussion. For a mexican, you really are unproductive.

But, I agree with drewbag too. There shouldn't be weapons that are just PURE 100% go unused. Even between classes, I am finding I am using mostly the same or similiar subtypes, and all those have a very slight degree in which they waver between a/d/s.

I'd destroy people with an adamantite tanto :(

Thanks for being a wannabe vengeful n00bcake though!

Apart from a/d/s, availability is an important thing when it comes to specializing I would think. Would you give up a point here or there if it is considerably easier to find a weapon somewhere? Would you give up a point here or there if it meant everyone wouldn't hunt you for the 'uber-weapon' of the week? For those who know the game extremely well, I'd say they wouldn't give up those points, because it's not the same bother for them to find/replace. Others may feel less of a hassle/more comfort with something else. To each his own.

It does seem a bit weird that some subtypes are ignored completely. What's the point of them then? Do NPCs at least use 'em all? Especially in low(er) level areas where anything is an improvement from a practice-twig.

If you want more tantos in the game, give some reasoning behind it and why they should be adamantite.

Grakus, you have an awfully big mouth, and seem awfully willing to take up the banner for the rest of us for someone who joined in September of this year.

I'll let you know if I want you to speak for me, though. I'm sure the rest of the forums will do the same. Until then, just stick to the topic, calm down, take a load off, and stop doing what you're criticising others for.

Tanto's are flat right?

If they are what I am believing them to be, then I suggest cold iron flyswatters for sprite killing
