Why do you need to release the spell? What benefit is there to that?

I am not sure there is one. Habit, mostly.

I believe that releasing the spell and reapplying it gives added exp for casting. As to if you get the same exp to recast without releasing, I am not entirely sure. I always erred on the side of caution.

I even wrote a book specifically to make spamming noteboards unnecessary. Easy to find.

Or, if you're dead set on spamming a noteboard, I posted a set of notes, the only set of notes, on one rarely-used board that no one would care if you spam-read.

So, I gotta ask... the way I did it was to write myself a note and lock myself away somewhere quiet... and then just spam read it... I haven't done it for all languages 'cos it occured to me that it may in fact be against the rules...

Is this method a legitmate way to learn?

S'how I mastered them all. I was at it for a while, too, (because I did them all at the same time) so unless there simply wasn't anyone around to scold me, I'm assuming it's legit.

It's a timeless method of improving skills wortsenawl. Done since the mud began.

I've only had one instance where an imm got mad at me for it and that was when I was playing my second character and I was in the temple in krychire spamming a note board message to improve aghelian tongue.
