Then, I do not get what you are whining about, because they are certainly on par or better than most weapons.

Some people just need to learn where and what kinds are the good axes. Axes are just fine.

Um..... I don't know about you, but I find it pretty [REDACTED] that my Barb gets one swing maybe two a round with my axe without any buffs and two maybe three with berserk or haste or frenzy, none of which stack. Axes are not on par with the others. And yes, my str and dex is maxed. That's what I'm "whininig" about. It sucks. And you know it. Bottom line, anyone else that doesn't agree, also is in denial as I was. Or is playing a giant barb who is just so strong and big, that it doesn't matter if they swp out for the axe.

[edit] axes are slower, less accurate and more deadly than everything. I've just come to know that they sucks from fighting other fighter classes that have swords. I've seen it proven time and time again. Swords have more damage output than axes, spears have more damage output, hell i bet half the good maces out there do to. Tell me seriously, how many fighter classes use an axe? The only character I've seen use an axe other than dwarves, has been Bollu. And he gets stomped with his axes. And I've had what I thought to be the best axe in the game. So if it wasn't it was close. They're are two more I know about ICly (that are supposed to be "up to par") that I havn't had yet, but I'm pretty sure the two I have were better.

pretty much the only weapon my hellion uses is an axe. I seem to recall crushing you with it two or three times one day.

Axes are great.

You're either Slayne who was a GM hellion with a hellion horse who never fought me one on one. Or your Nadil who was a giant who faced me one on one and as I said, giants barbarians are just wicked, so yeah of course the giant beat me. I'm guessing your Slayne though. So if you are, that doesn't count unless you fight Bollu with your axe and his axe one on one without your buffed horse.

{edit} Every other time Bollu has been killed has never been one on one so those points are mute to the comparison of axes vs. swords.

Have you considered that it's perhaps not the fact that you use axes that makes you die all the time, but the fact that you're fighting buffed up people with horses without (I assume) buffs or horses?

I mean, that's just how it seems to me. You can have the best weapon in the world, but if you're otherwise going to be a tactical moron, it's not really going to help you.

If you read my post, I'm saying I have, and anyone that has killed me that can say they did more than once are few. I'm saying from experience, one on one, the axe is a disadvantage vs. a sword and shield as well as two handed swords.

I havn't seen proof of otherwise, and I would really like to see this fixed.

[EDIT]

giant barb with axe vs fighting class one on one with sword, giant wins. (giant barb w/axe vs giant barb w/sword, sword barb wins)

human barb with axe vs fighting class one on one with sword, fighting class wins.

Bash is good, but with high level fights, as a human barb, bash misses or doesn't knock 'em down an' lag 'em at least once. At which the tide usually turns when it's down to who gets in the command the fastest. Bash lag when the other party isn't, is a big deal. And generally, even without it and using the axe, I have to use my berserk/fury to heal which lags and doesn't always hit (when its mastered and you miss it as frequently as i do... motherfuck.), I find myself at a serious disadvantage with the slow damage output of my axe.

Sorry, can't help myself...

If an axe doesn't suit your char as well as a sword... Why not use a sword? There are clearly chars for whom an axe works quite well: Cleaving hellions, mercs specced in axe, dwarf priests ( ), to name a few. It just sounds like your char doesn't happen to be one of these. Move on?

Peace,
Bux

Because my barbarian should be able to use a weapon as barbaric as an axe, which fits his character, but puts him at a serious disadvantage.
