Okay. Could I get some character advice here?

I have a Priest (Expert 2)
Maxed: Con, Int, Wis
Art: 1 train
Str: Strong (one out of weak - still can't hold the saphire polemace  )
Cha: Sociable
Dex Akward (one below the first level of "limber")

_____________________

I think that I may have 7 attribute point trains before GM. Where should I put them? Max out the ART? Str? (enough to hold a heavy weapon) Dex? HP?
Tell me the pros and cons?

Thanks Pbase.

Aim to mentor newbies, work toward both that way. You need to have a certain amount of strength to survive. There was a point in my mid-30s my IC friends were dropping jaws when they learned my natural strength, and that was after training it several times. (I had been barely carrying 70 lbs well into the game. Good thing I was a cloth priest).

Getting strength up to PLAYABLE makes all the difference in the world. With the 7 you have, train it once, and check on that polemace (something I STILL have yet to see with my character, I'm going to have to start really lookin') and do that until you can wield it. Whatever points you put into strength, as long as you are going to be around awhile mentoring after GM, you should make up for art.

I agree with Amadeo, having enough strenghth to hold a polemace is very helpful. After that have fun with art.

EDIT: nah, screw dex.

Don't even bother with trying to hold a pole mace made out of stone... my guy is up around powerful str and can't even use it... There are lighter pole maces.

Thanks for the imput everyone.

Question: Can I really depend on Mentoring others in the future for an attribute point? I remember training massive amounts of people with my GM level Sorc but never saw a single attribute point. Kinda seemed like the quest for the Holy Grail.

Does anyone have success stories in this?

No.

Just bet on using a long [REDACTED] time on getting to veteran and then use spear of faith and harm to get on.

And don't waste points on dex, you don't get dodge.

I've done my best to mentor where possible. I wouldn't say I put too many hours into it at all, and I recently recieved my first mentor point. It's really not too hard to gain them. However, you will need younger players to mentor. Obviously you can mentor outside of your class, but it helps if there are a lot of lowbies of your type.

Art or HP, either or, nothing else. Dex and Str can be EASILY modded up with items, they're all over. Art, IMO, is a little better than HP, but going for both may not be a bad idea.

For some reason, with my current character, I'm experiencing the same thing. However, late last year, with a mostly neutral, fountain roleplay oriented sorceror, I received one insight point per month, for every month until I stopped playing. It also helped that she was from a well-populated city. I cannot help but wonder if it has been adjusted.

True. Really depends where his strength is right now though. Before I spent a couple points in str it was a real drag carrying anything around above my armor (which was cloth) and the supplies needed to get around the game. I had strength mods at the time. I still do now. You don't want str sacrificed to a point it is a detriment to your character, and you don't want to be so dependent on stat mods (I think I was wearing 6-7 pieces with +str at one point *shudders) to be compromising other areas.

Anyway, do what works best for you. ;)
