Arguing about this change on the basis of RP makes absolutely no sense to me. If you belong to a light aura god, by definition he does not like dark aura people. Regardless of how you RP your priest, you aren't going to talk your god into using his power to resurrect someone diametrically opposed to his values.
I don't think anyone can reasonably dispute that priests shouldn't be acting against their god. But is resurrecting someone of opposing alignment ALWAYS disobeying the god?
Not every light-aura god is as principled as Dulrik or Alshain. Take Zavijah, for example. Generally, priestly association with evil people is strongly discouraged, let alone granting them life. But what if an aberrant character is helping a priest free some slaves (Liberty!), or is offering legendary long-lost knowledge (Discovery!)? Might the value of his help be worth the risk of the harm he might do later?
Of course, such decisions are dangerous. A priest risks total destruction if his god disappoves his actions - but that provides some dramatic roleplay. If everybody agrees on exactly how every light-aura should behave, where's the opportunity for conflict? Heck, why even have two different light-aura alignments, or more than one light-aura god?
I've been a huge fan of the alignment system here, and I firmly believe people should play their character's alignment. But thankfully, that still leaves a lot of room for variety. Let's not dictate details, or reduce a wonderfully fertile RP environment to just good vs. evil. *end rant*
