Rhythmic Gymnastics involves music, movement, and objects, so do many native dances, so there is no reason for Bards not to use shields.
I ok checked Rhythmic Gymnastics and all I saw in the pictures was a stick with a streamer stuck to it, A hoop and a ball (maybe a medicine ball) maybe I am slightly ignorant BUT all that justifies is them holding a weapon. Also, native dancing was for rituals and spiritual enlightenment. I do not think native warriors did a jig when they were in battle: D

Bards: The bards (bardoi) were a class of Druids who carried oral traditions through song. They were poets and singers. These songs, called cetel in Ireland and lay in Brittany, could be used as magickal spells to both curse and bless.

Once again they sing songs about warriors and hero's they are not ones themselves.

I am not trying to sound like a dick however giving them a new skill just because if they are deafened, dirt kick, bash or tripped they get ripped apart does not grant them the use of the skill shield block. They can mess a group up royally just by getting a member of the group to attack one of the other group members. Hell if they did get shield block other classes would QQ for example a necromancer would want the protection spell just because BoG messes them up.
