Like I said. Bards don't get to do much group v group pk. It is always one sided. If that is the case then songs of sleep don't mean much. Persuade is okay . . .it isn't a skill of a master level. I mean it isn't that good to be a master level skill

[edit] Might be mentor but in either case still isn't worth it.

Yes, but it is also considered an illegal action. If a law NPC sees you, you are screwed. But, anyhow, even all those spells together are not enough to correct the [REDACTED] HPs of a bard.

P.S. And wands and staves? What are you on people? Anyway, dalamar's post was the sagest one so far.

Problem with bards is that only few people know how to play one, they are probably the best pk class out there, for solo and group pk.

Learn to use their unique skills, chords and songs, learn where to place their stat points, learn never to be caught in the front row, understand that you get scrolls to give you most defensive spells.

The best at solo pk? What kinda crack is your bard on. Please tell me what it is. Hmmm . . .only against necros and sorcs without anything protecting them. Otherwise they get owned by anything that resembles a fighting class or usually has something guarding them. They are the best though in group pk due to songs of sleep and silence. In solo pk, their few hp's means anything that does decent damage will own them. I remember dueling a barb that was two statues under me. I got him tripped, then sang, disarmed him then I still got owned.

Muktar, perhaps you should learn how to play a bard before you speeks?

I don't want to get much into detail, let's just say that there is a song or chord to use against ANY class you face in solo pk. Except perhaps barbarians might prove more of a challenge.

Like Lagelli said learn to play a bard. He does

Rhythmic Gymnastics involves music, movement, and objects, so do many native dances, so there is no reason for Bards not to use shields.

I ok checked Rhythmic Gymnastics and all I saw in the pictures was a stick with a streamer stuck to it, A hoop and a ball (maybe a medicine ball) maybe I am slightly ignorant BUT all that justifies is them holding a weapon. Also, native dancing was for rituals and spiritual enlightenment. I do not think native warriors did a jig when they were in battle: D

For some quick definitions #1 being from a non-dictionary site
Quote:
Bards: The bards (bardoi) were a class of Druids who carried oral traditions through song. They were poets and singers. These songs, called cetel in Ireland and lay in Brittany, could be used as magickal spells to both curse and bless.

Take out the druid and loctation stuff, and there you go a perfect example of an SK's bard
Quote:
Bard
One of an ancient Celtic order of minstrel poets who composed and recited verses celebrating the legendary exploits of chieftains and heroes.
A poet, especially a lyric poet.
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Bard

Once again they sing songs about warriors and hero's they are not ones themselves.

For a cool looking Bard (note the guitar strapped to his back)

I am not trying to sound like a dick however giving them a new skill just because if they are deafened, dirt kick, bash or tripped they get ripped apart does not grant them the use of the skill shield block. They can mess a group up royally just by getting a member of the group to attack one of the other group members. Hell if they did get shield block other classes would QQ for example a necromancer would want the protection spell just because BoG messes them up.
