Is the Summon spell fine as it is?

Sure, it's the best way to kill someone. Fun, too (for the one who does it). 18%  18%  [ 7 ]
It is OK, but wouldn't mind PK demanding and involving more than that. 38%  38%  [ 15 ]
No, it's not. "You deserve to die if you can get summoned" sounds like an excuse for people to use it whenever possible to me. 44%  44%  [ 17 ]

Summon was at the right level before the introduction of Art: a few enchantments provided a reasonable defense. Now, you can summon just about anyone and far to easily. I'd like to see the gang-bang summoning wimped, to the extent of Dulrik's group summoning or trading summoning for gates.

What about trading summon for something like
cast "locate person" <target>
With the aid of magic a person can do amazing thing, none so amazing as to find whatever and whoever they so wish. After mastering locating object a magic user discover that with a bit more focus they can find where enemies or friends reside.

See also: locate object
It is like e-parry where you have to master locate object before you can improve/master locate person This way you get an idea of where they are for example

cast "locate object" ring
---
ring held by bob
cast "locate person" bob
----
bob is in Teron

This is not over powered because it is giving vague descriptions of where the person is, it does not tell them exactly where they are which can change in one to three typed words.

No.

Summon is *so* useful to help as well as to harm.

And it is quite easy to avoid since it has been wimped.


*edit* there is a unique item that does that you can carry, and two unique non-movable items that does it as well.

No need for a new spell.

Please, Dulrik, switch the limits of gate and summon, let us have some fun! Like summons, gates should be able to goto PCs in the same zone with willpower save check.

While the majority will complain "(insert random Radamanthys imitation here) a large group summoned me in Nerina and ganked me, damn, I had no chance at all... omg where is the RP? Imma whine on the forums. "

Only the minority would complain "(insert more Radamanthys imitation here) a large group gated to me in Nerina and ganked me, my buddies and guards all together, and that was a good display of tactics. Sure, we died, and lost loot, but they did fight in my terms and won fairly, prepared group vs group combat is where it's at for SK."

Until Dulrik makes further changes to summon and gate, the playerbase cannot help but to spam summon + gank Rad's char(s) so that he keeps up the useful feedback on these spells. :p

Summon is helpful at times for pcs, so I would say that if auto summon is on, you cannot be summoned period, but if it is off, you can.

Then make gate a lot easier to hit. Only make it so you can gate to people in water and in the air. Make it dangerous.

Definetely against locate person idea. What the f*** were you thinking? There is enough abuse of the scrying methods that are in game already, and for some of them there is a warning to the person being scried, and there is a great cost for all of them. Now you think of a way that a class could have it as a common spell? Get the s**t out of your mind!

How hard is it for you ppl to enchant your lewt and get like 25-30 will on your suit?

That amount of willpower makes you nearly unsummonable unless they are in the next room(and then it would take some effort).

The not prepared one is easier to die than the prepared one. Be it against a warlock with or without resist elements, be it against a hellion with or without stone skin, be it against a summoner with or without enough will enchants.

Now if you got summoned because you had auto summon off, you deserved to die :P

...What's the point of putting in swear words to block them out? Aren't you still saying the same thing? Or does it make you feel better about yourself because it's censored?

I have to agree with juggernaut though. Locate person is an asinine idea.
