I'm using a crappy client. I want a better client. My prerequisites are that it be free, willing to keep its 'more advanced' features out of my face when I don't want anything to do with them, and with as many neat/useful features I can get while adhering to the above bits. The particular one I'm looking at is being able to configure what color each color code shows, precisely. Auto mapping would be good too.

If it's been discussed elsewhere I can't find it, so just link me and ignore this post.

I think the closest you're going to get is the free versions of Zmud or SimpleMu, maybe MUSHclient.

I'm stubborn and still using Gmud - while it has issues with the black color code, it has a MUCH larger command buffer and window, allowing me to input more than three lines of text at once :)

MUSHclient is what I suggest. Even the free version has all features available(even saves logs/copies in HTML format) and only drawback is that you have to wait for 10 secs every time you open the client.

Also command buffer, output buffer and such are fully customizable, it's easy to add aliases/triggers, customize colours and the keypad's functions, generally the best free client I've found all these years I've been playing SK.

PS: It's not affecting the registry when you install it, so you can install it on PCs where you don't have full access(like laboratories in schools/universities).

SimpleMU is a great client but I have not got it to map yet. But it can log change color and triggers and the like. Overall I think that it is the best client besides Z-mud.

Oh, by the way...Gmud fits on a standard floppy disk and runs off of said floppy - if you do this it just doesn't save the world list.

Putty = <3 for work and when I'm away from my laptop.

I still use Zmud though. *shrug*
