Hellions can dominate NPCs above lvl 35(this includes full skill sets for the classes of the NPCs) and some of them are pretty badass and permahasted so fatigue is not affecting them(and cheat0r you can say, I remember releasing a certain troll from domination only for it to spam headbutt and HP regen on Vaknafein and kill him :P).

If you haven't found a decent dominatee, you either haven't explored much or you haven't bothered to keep decent CHA to your char.

That NPC wouldnt compare to some of the NPCs sorcs have. Plus from what I have seen not many people have had that NPC so it might be only one of them or its something that only the "twinks" know. Which wouldnt be a fair arguement for the rest of the class.

Why remove shield block when paladins get shield block, dodge and parry. Although the increased casting cost for dominate I would agree with if the concentration was lowered.

The argument that "Paladins get it, why can't we" is invalid. Hellions have access to numerous abilities that paladins don't, and vice versa. I know a fair few paladins who'd be willing to give up shield block for a dominate - no matter how high the concentration.

Well from my perspective I see more paladins on average than hellions. Perhaps thats a clue that hellions need something? I seriously think they are way better off. Sanc, their BoG has the nimbus, they get HW which can remove hellions prot or shield. any blinsness, deafness, plague can be healed, not only is their BoG as damaging as hellions Hellfire if not more so, they can heal themselves too. Get parry hellions dont and disarm. Most of that seems way better than what hellions get. Although intimidate is quite nice that it lasts a nice time between attack attempts. and cleave is nice with insta kill but its not reliable to count on it often.

All my opinion.

Then again having never played a paladin really i might be a bit off. But I recall cleaving one with stun mode, took him to 25% hp and he still won.

healing and BoG.

Holy word takes off more than fifty percent of the average paladin's mana. It's not exactly a spell that they can spam, and it's certainly something that can be resisted.

For starters, I don't think any class that can walk in from behind a pet, cleave to try to get an instant kill, and then run away invis and hiding if it fails to try again later has anything to [REDACTED] about - perhaps you simply aren't playing the class correctly.

And yes, hellions do bite against paladins if they let the paladin get a few spells off. Surprise! Paladins are designed to fight dark auras, hellions are a multi-purpose class. A good hellion will whip a merc's [REDACTED], but a paladin has virtually no way to win.

Edit: As for your "I see more paladins than hellions!" comment, I play a lot of paladins, and I have never yet played a hellion. That's not because I think paladins are better, if anything I think hellions have the edge, generally speaking. I just prefer the RP of the paladin class.

No need to get angry or claim im bitching. Just sharing my view point. But Hellions are supposed to be "honorable" so fleeing and invis and hide shouldnt be a valid tactic, and I doubt any paladins gonna accept a fight against me and a dominate.

I'm not angry, but the purpose of this thread is really a [REDACTED] about how hellions need better/less costly abilities, as I'm sure you can agree.

Help hellion wrote:
Furthermore, no one can escape to fight another day as well as a hellion.

It seems to me that hellions not only possess the ability to escape, but their help file overtly suggests that they use it frequently. I'm sure you can fit it around the vow of honor in the code. Suggest that perhaps you weren't running away and conceding the battle so much as deciding to delay it for your own purposes - the true act of the evil mastermind, and not dishonorable.

Not quite bitching. I play them a lot even if i think they need stuff. I really like the Rp of it. But I at least think they should get parry. It says they are magnificent warriors too in the helpfile. And as someone pointed out rogues get parry and I believe bards as well.

To be honest with you, I think both classes should receive both parry and eparry. But I don't think that's going to happen.
