Quality players are promoted when there is need. It isn't something you can rush.

Who's to say there aren't four angels already building? Angels aren't made public knowledge nor are they allowed to go public.

Well sure you're right... But why are more Imms quitting than players promoted as fo the past 2 years? And i mean good Imms quitting...

Why do the current list of imms have 32 responsibilities each?

See my point?

Chicago wasn't built in a day, but it was able to be burnt in one.

Same thing applies to immortals.

It takes a good long while to evaulate someone to even consider them for such a position, while an IMM that has made it can can sometimes leave in a week or a month.

Also, even though it doesn't look like it. This has been about the same IMM population for the last four years. Before then we had a lot of IMM slots, but most of the IMMs were inactive and only popped on once in a while to talk or fart around. Back in the days of Reina (previous nature goddess), he often found himself alone on the mud for days at a time.

I used to keep the IMM hour stats on an excel chart month to month, showing everything all year long. Nothing really changed from month to month, except the total hour count went up when Nashira/(Aludra) was in his first year. He alone accounted for about 200 hours a month at times.

You can bet that if there were any current angels in progress, once they get promoted to full IMM status then a new group of angels will be chosen, if they wait much past January. It isn't easy to pull a size-able from the player base because it destroys the play currently going on. I think I've seen around four angels at once, which was the largest number of angels on staff at any one time when I was around.

I know I'm the little newbie around here and what I say doesn't mean much, but that's never stopped me from opening my mouth....

In 13, almost 14 years (yes, that means I started back in 1991 kids while some of you were still in diapers), I have never seen a MUD with this style and design. It is a reflection of the dedication of the IMMortal staff.

Now I admit, I still get confused as to who is who. Now I know where to go look. And I'm still learning the ins and outs, mostly cause I do it own my own, slowly but surely.

I have noticed one thing reading this entire string...most mortal players still think being an immortal is cool!!!!!

Life of an IMMortal Player:

Get up at some point during the day,
Grab a shower, toss on work clothes,
Log into mud
Intend to work on area that has been in process for 4 YEARS
Get sidetracked with lower IMMs needing a hand with their area
Have to go help players and answer their questions
Get back to area that has been in process for 4 YEARS, notice time
Go to work!
Get home and try to spend time with family and friends.
Log into mud for an hour
Try to get things done, but it is same as above except this time settling a fight between two IMMs who got involved in RL.

On Days Off, try to get area done but still dealing with IMMs who need help and players who need help. Plus must do laundry, shopping, etc.

If you don't believe me, I've lived with someone who has done immortal staffing for nearly 10 years now.

Still don't believe me, ask the immortals here.

They are not real IMMortals and they do what they can. So hats off to you guys. Most players don't know the behind workings of what you do, they only think of the fun!

:drunk:

*ROFL!!!*

SOOOOO true...but the area I'm working on has only been in-progress for three years, not four.

Someone find Yed's player a cute person in the sex he prefers and have that person take him out.
I think he needs away from the keyboard for a few moments. :D

Then begins all the plans to take over....
