Has anyone else noticed how they are automatically transferring to mode kill after their target is stunned? I've been having the problem for weeks. Had spammed kick in a fight to stun, and my kick turned me onto mode kill.

I've had this problem before, and literally for years.

This is one of many reasons why spamming skills and spells is a dangerous choice in battle. This is not a bug, however, to my knowledge.

Your kick hits a dwarven acolyte in the solar plexus causing him to double over.
A dwarven acolyte is stunned, but will probably recover.

You will fight to kill.
You punch at a dwarven acolyte's chest. A dwarven acolyte falls on his knees and collapses.
A dwarven acolyte is DEAD!!

Nothing put in there. No spamming.

**Edit** So far as I can see, it's automatically doing it, though I can't seem to find any pattern in when the code does or does not switch you to mode kill.

I suspect the bug is located in using a skill to stun someone does not drop you from combat.

If someone is stunned and you perform a combat action on them it will switch you mode kill automatically.
What it looks like happened here is your kick put them to stunned but you didnt exit combat. Your next round of auto attack went you are trying to kill someone stunned switch to mode kill and kill them.

My response was based on your original post, in which you stated you had been spamming.

Based on the log snippet, however, I suspect if there is a bug, it has to do with active input-based skills landing the stun as opposed to just your passive sword slinging, etc.

Shouldn't the result of an attempted kick after someone is stunned be:
<Someone> is already stunned.

And just not let the kick land?

Then, a person can toggle mode kill, if they actually mean to kill it. Which I think, is the reason for toggle?

At least presently, I believe if you're in position to enter commands without keywords, then when the person is stunned, you may not land it, because once stunned in the first place and out of combat, the target needs to be named to restart the combat?

I can see how things are presently could be seen as a potential glitch.
For now, suggest - just kick, not kick <person> if you're already engaged with them...

The kick wasn't attempted after the target was stunned at all....

There's no kick <person> syntax. You can only use 'kick' by itself and it targets whoever you're in direct melee combat with

This time, aye. Yet the bug remains.

While it has been a long time, I've seen this bug take place with no intermittent combat commands. A Fistie friend and I would duel each other a long time ago and every once in a while on the stunning punch I'd auto-switch and kill him. Made me feel real bad.
