Shattered Kingdoms

I'm not sure if its a bug or just a question, but here it goes.

After I voided out twice, I saw people leaving the realms that I was not in the room with. I'm guessing the "void" is an actual room all voided people go to, but just making sure I'm not just 'seeing' things as a side effect of void.



I was alone in the inn room here, but saw the other elf leave.




The white-haired gnome was NOT in the room before and I see him leave too.

Yeah, if you 'void' as you put it, you see everyone else who has voided too. It's usually caused by a long period of inactivity, but as soon as you enter a command, even an invalid or blank command you return from the void.

Yes, "The Void" is an actual room. The instant you type anything in, however, you are lifted back from The Void to the room you were in when you voided out, so you never see The Void at all--except for the occasional commands or messages from other void-ed player-characters. The only people who can actually "see" The Void are imms (by typing <at 2 look>).

Used to be that some folks would catch the plague in The Void from other void-ed player-characters, but that was remedied, I believe.

The Void exists essentially to keep linkdead player-characters relatively out-of-the-way.
