Post subject:  Marfik Church

I was told a moment ago Halela was uninducted from Marfik church for being a griffon.
And marfik is telling his high priest to induct greys only. If this is really what is going on, then marfik is truely [REDACTED]. Straight from the Help File:

Marfikian are generally found amongst the slaves, lower classes, and outcasts who have not flourished under the rule of merchants, nobles, or kings. Those who recognize the plight of these people also find an easy home within the Maelstrom. He welcomes all, be they griffon or necromancer, as long as they do not hold Order within their heart.

Seriously, that is a [REDACTED] move if she was really removed and he is saying only greys should be inducted...Thats just NOT the marfik church, and is opposite of what marfik stands for.

Hate to agree with mundufisen, but yeah. That is terrible.

Marfik has done a few very stupid, very knee-jerk, and very uncalled for things over the last couple of days. Honestly, he's done nothing but sour a few people on the game and the people who moderate it, for literally no reason beyond his personal whim.

Here's your sign, Marfik. Should probably get a helmet to go with it. No kindly go back to absentia. You're only screwing things up.

Seriously? That's terrible.

One of my very favourite characters from an RP standpoint was a darkie marfikian. Is it supposed to be restricted to the annoying-as-heck happy-go-lucky roster?

I can agree that a griffon perhaps didn't belong - but I hadn't really spoken to her, so I'm not one to judge. But making restrictions for alignment? I suddenly feel like going on a binge and passing out in my own sick.

I'm kinda glad this was in Pantheon instead of GD...

I don't like this decision either, having roleplayed with the character in question. I thought she played chaotic good very convincingly.

I think the help files for the religions need to be rewritten in their entirety. Aludra accepts only light auras (with perhaps some very rare exception for a greybie), yet this is in her helpfile:

Quote:
Her following spans races and alignments, although dark hearts find lust more desirable, and seldom adhere to the tenants of the church.

Why have that in there, if they can't even join the church so as not to adhere to its tenets?

This is so screwed up. They definitely need to fix the help files. I hope restricting grey faiths to greys doesn't become a trend though. Part of them do so well because they're so accepting.

When I found out about this, I was mortified. I'm not the sort of person to start uproars or blame IMMs... but I can't believe that someone would screw up a legitimately played character's RP FOREVER because of this. There is NO REASON that this should ever happen to someone.

I can't believe that Marfik would do this, or that Dulrik would let it happen. To uninduct Halela for being a griffon when it's right there in the help file that she's ALLOWED to be in the church and she put HOURS of RP into the character?

I'm left speechless. If it had happened to my character, I would quit SK.

Be that as it may, people aren't even keeping to alignments - let alone faith - as it is. Maybe the HFs of each faith should be looking over their help files and redoing them to help keep things straight - with guidance from their IMM of course? The more clarity the better I think.

There are light based faiths for a reason, as there are dark faith based ones. Evil vs. Good - and yet, even that seems a stretch at times. Lighties with darkies, training, exploring, sitting in the inns like old friends. Griffons and deep-elves, elves and deep-elves chatting and friends.....seriously.... and then to throw faith into the mix? What is more important, keeping to an alignment or moving towards a religion?

I don't know how well you know the character Halela, but after carefully reading through the scrupulous help file, I find that Halela plays her alignment very well. There are a number of aspects that a Scrupulous character has that would be perfect for the Marfik religion.

I sigh to you Marfik.
:(
*sighhhhhhhhhhhh*
