The use of OOC knowledge of certain areas and elite pieces of equipment has become prevalent to the point of being a joke. I don't wish to implicate specific characters because the blame is widespread. I would, however, like to see a more strict response to this abuse of OOC knowledge. Its absurd that characters created within the week can lead groups to the ToM, or navigate Radi Kengi's or the Citadel, etc.

I would take that a bit more generally, but yes, it is irritating the way this MUD has progressed - even in the short time I've been here.

And that's minor, imo (not to be neglected at all, but minor). What really pisses me off is people that created TODAY knowing all about who's in what cabal etc.

The question is how do you police that? I mean seriously.

No one knows unless they watch you the whole time what you do and do not know ICly. It may seem obvious that they are using OOC knowledge, but you can't say with all certainty that they are using OOC knowledge.

That leaves you with someone embittered because they get cursed or whatever, because the IMM staff can't prove they don't know it.

It is a hairy situation.

I liked it better when the cabal secrets were kept strictly among the cabal members.

Things like the abyssal tower, the dark druid, the Mraolli(sp?) etc.
I don't see how you can police knowledge of how to go to the Iron Citadel, Radi Kenga etc, but you can certainly police these.

But when you see a harlie deleting, making an Mcer and posting a note of all the harlie members with appearance, class and level in the MC HQ go unpunished... Well you get the point.

The abyssal tower is a stellar example, it went from being very few people who knew it (even within said cabal) to everyone and their mother knowing every single facet of the area - Without ever doing the actual quest (which is extremely hard).

I would like to point out that there -are- IC ways of learning about these things, even outside of cabals. There are little known maps, scrolls, books, lores etc. etc. I once had an imm peek over my shoulder, wondering how we got into a certain secret spot, and as it turns out even -he- didnt know of the map that had found our hands.

That said, yes it will likely be difficult as hell policing. Unless it becomes a requirement for everyone to log everything they do.

While we are on the note about the tower, FIX IT. There is absolutely no reason for krychire necrophidius's to be spawning on the way to it. It makes getting lighties there impossible.

You should know its story and know how it is very much northern territory there. Not supposed to be a place for a lightie.
