First, you can die! I am not talking about just due to the fact that all of the NPC's body parts are poisoned. The fact that the NPCs themselves will kill you! They even remember you.

Second, The challenge ratings of the NPCs in there absolutely sucks. There should be absolutely nothing in there you should be able to die to if you have full newb armor and wpn.

I can only imagine the frustration of poison, NPCs that will kill, and remember you, and that there are NPCs that can kill you no matter how much you have progressed in amateur.

I also know myself around krychire newbie school too well to complain myself, but here are the points that make it suck in my opinion:

- Poisoned NPCs, for one very specific reason. The newbie who will kill one of these NPCs and get the "You feel hungry" message will eat the limbs of the NPCs. It's likely that he will not even figure out at first what caused the poisoning, how to distinguish what limbs make him sick or not.

-Very little coin drop from NPC kills to buy decent armor/weapon.

-No good shops around to equip anything else but cloth-armored characters. Especially hard if you are supposed to be heavy-armored class (aka warriors).

-The worst part, imo, which is VERY newbie-unfriendly is that you start where the black mages are, thinking that THESE are the NPCs you must take out first (happened to me with my first 2-3 attempts to make chars from Krychire when I was a newbie), since you actually have to DISCOVER the cells with the slaves. The result is multiple times dead newbies. This needs to change urgently, I think.

There could also be space for theme improvement as well, but the most essential points are the above, since they are newbie-unfriendly.

Okay, this isn't a bad point - healing is prohibitively-expensive there as well.

Are you talking about the NPCs that TRAIN you? The tower guards?

That's not changing, for thematic reasons.

Any other changes that occur MUST occur for reasons that make sense ICly.

I don't know, guys, I had never played a MUD before when I made my first character in the North, and I didn't find it to be as confusing or difficult as you're making it seem. That doesn't mean I'm not willing to listen, I'm just somewhat flabbergasted.

I am not talking about the guards. I am talking about a certain prisoner or 2 on the third floor.

The mages are fine, and tend to be faster learning than the prisoners, I find. Also, they won't kill you.
