Last I was aware we weren't allowed to use request for anyone but ourselves, sites this extend to charms/NPCs we are controlling? I have seen quite a bit of request abuse, should these things start being logged and submitted?

I've been told that you can request for your own charmie and/or tribunal guard.

I got deleted once for requesting for someone else.

He is talking about requesting to use request for a NPC controlled by said char, not other PCs or NPCs controlled by other people.

Personally, I see no issue with it. The NPC is an extension of 'you' at that point.

I am also referring to requesting items for other pcs.

If you see someone abusing the request command if your RP is suitable you should have something to say to them ICly to remind them of the rules. If they follow though on the action you should submit it as an issue.



Clearly there is no giving of these items to other players. Using one on a charmed/tribunal guard is slightly more grey. The first line is open to being interpreted as a flat no, your charm is not you yourself. However an argument could be made to say that having a charm use the item is you using the item by extension. However the last part makes you vulnerable again to potential punishment when it says you can not use the request command to deliberately make items easier to get. A tribunal guard or a charm being used to attack a city brings the item to the easiest place possible for someone to take from you. The likely hood of them not living and you fleeing is quite reasonable are you doing it deliberately or are you just failing. Also if you ever forget to take the item from the charm/tribunal guard.

It would be a good idea to get an official ruling on it right now there is so much wiggle room it is open to abuse and punishment at the same time. Which is never a good situation because of people crying Imm favorites.

I think she is saying that NPC guards are treated as a disposable tank resource. If in trouble, you will flee and leave it to die. And then the requested item will be looted from the corpse.

Alright, I didn't quite realize that this was an avenue of abuse via transferring requested items to other players. If you are fleeing and your guard is dying, it is likely that you are fighting an enemy in an opposing faction and it would seem like quite a bit of trouble for a weapon/armor transfer.

You've seen quite a bit of people request items and give them to other PC's?

Syntax: request <object>

This power is granted to those few good people who are deemed worthy. You
are allowed to request items be given to you from NPCs. They do this so
that good people can be equipped to fight evil without resorting to killing
others. This is an ability that is watched very closely.

You may only request items that you yourself plan to use. No giving the
items to another player either directly or indirectly. No giving the item
back to another NPC so that players can request it from the new NPC and save
themselves a trip to a dangerous area. No dropping the item so that another
player can "find" it. No selling the item for money. If you no longer have
a use for an item, you must destroy it.
