She was my first character here on SK and I really enjoyed her a lot. She was wonderful to learn the world of Pyrathia with and get my feet wet while meeting so many of the players. Still, I've been trying out some alts and found an area that I really want to expand my time on SK with so Serakyla has decided to retire to her home in Exile with her new baby and husband. Before you is a very short female human with slight elven traits to her
ears, face and nose. Her hair is long, down to her waist and pitch black
though in the moonlight it gives a gentle dark-blue tint, nearly matching
the color of her dark-blue eyes. Her shape is meek and petite though
well-toned from the hard work of her youth. The beginning signs of new life
are showing around her abdomen. She holds the natural beauty of a mixed
race, blending the best of both sides into one small girl. Still, you can't
help but notice the faint markings of a former Imperial slave on her
shoulder, even as she obviously tries to keep it covered with her long hair.
Years of built up scratch marks have created scarring that make it difficult
to see and nearly faded it away. A similar marking is on her left ankle.
Serakyla was born in the village of Chibunei to a human mother and elven father, the older sister to Kaitessna. When she was a young baby, imperial raiders stormed the village and took her to the east as a slave child. She grew up in a variety of noble houses, being bought, sold and traded between families as property until she was finally put to hard slave labor working the grounds of the coliseum. While there, she heard of older slaves sharing stories of the great rebel leader of old, Taslamar, who led the slave rebellion that fled west to form the city of Exile and the kingdom that later bore his name. These stories inspired her dreams and gave her courage such that she would one day follow suit. She began studying the fighters that visited the coliseum to learn what she could from afar but realizing that she lacked the size and strength to match them, she became momentarily disheartened until the day a young sorcerer entered the ring. Watching him perform his magic was the moment she realized what her escape plan would be.
On her 17th birthday, stealing the discarded clothes of a vanquished squire, she snuck from the coliseum down to Kytar where she hid in the shadows and mimicked the magic users she saw training there. For days she practiced in the dark, using her elven infravision to see, trying to learn just enough to protect herself on her way west until finally she was able to produce a single magical spark. That was her moment and in the middle of the night she set out to follow her dreams...
Serakyla began as an Imperial and RP'd the petition to Keegan for her release as well as to Aohd for her acceptance as a citizen of Exile. Furthermore, she looked at Aohd as a mentor and based on her upbringing as a slave, subconsciously referred to him as Master Aohd for that reason. Being brought up in the east, she saw things purely from the light of what was good for her, selling her crafts to anyone who would pay, but as she made friends and saw the beauty of her freedom, her mind started to shift to the light, worrying about her friends and family took precedent up to the point that she joined the peacekeepers solely to protect the freedom she loved so much and the freedom of her family and all others who had shared a story like hers.
