SK Character: Retired Troll
Quote:
A shaggy mane of snow-white hair frames two piercing blue eyes that stare out with uncommon ferocity. An equally white, scraggly beard hugs this man's jowls, which look strong enough to snap a bison's neck. Upon close inspection, this man appears to be past his prime - possibly even in his early fifties. Standing at six feet tall, his large frame is filled with lean muscle, visible underneath coarse white body hair and deep scarring. This animal of a man is unsettlingly reminiscent of a wolf.

He obviously had GS for those stats. His str was really down to 19 because he aged. I trained 6 art with him because charm scrolls used to exist.

Dago was insane from birth. He spent every waking moment laughing, and he laughed constantly in his sleep as well. After a few years, his mother, who was a special lady at the Five Daggers Inn, put him out on the streets and left him to die. Dago managed to survive, however, finding his way to the Crossroads inn, where there was always water and steaks of rosy-cheeked female gnomes to be found. The patrons of the inn found the constantly laughing child to be cute until he got old enough that it was just creepy, and he was kicked out. Dago grew up alone, on the streets of Teron. He was very much insane, but learned how to hide the fact, able to control his laughter and even act like a normal child. This internal struggle was his connection to the church of war, as he battled against himself to maintain a normal external appearance.

Dago had an ear for music and a pleasant voice. He would always watch the bards of Teron perform, and began giving performances of his own at a young age. Dago was a pathological liar, and would say things that are untrue for no reason. So when he was asked if he was a true bard, with a magically imbued voice, he said he was, even though he was a rogue. By pretending to be a bard, few would be suspicious of him when people wound up dead. He based his life around this lie, honing his ability to perform and sing, and trying to mimic the charm of a true bard. To keep up with his bard persona, he would flirt with most women he met. He pretended to be obscenely arrogant, but it was usually an act. He was extremely insecure, aware of his insanity and other shortcomings.

Dago had no understanding of honor. He got off on deceiving and killing. Whenever someone insulted his music, or slighted him, he would bide his time and strike them when they did not expect it, killing them under a disguise, working hard to maintain the illusion of being a bard and not allowing himself to be connected to the various murders. He was a very twisted individual, though he usually was able to hide this fact, only slipping up occasionally. He spent a lot of time socializing in inns and giving original performances.

Eventually, too many people learned his secret, and this drove him back to a point where he could not hide his insanity. He could no longer play the part of a charming bard, instead spending most of his time laughing for no apparent reason. Ealuriel helped rescue him from his own insanity, and the two pursued a relationship. They had a kid and got married etc blah blah blah.

After his secret was out and Ealuriel left the realms for an extended period, Dago also withdrew from Pyrathia for a few decades. When he returned, he did not bother being consistent in his bard persona, only occasionally acting charming. More often, he would show his true colors as a psychopathic, ruthless and deranged killer and sadist.

Something of a Teronian patriot, Dago took great offense when Teron came under attack by the druids, and was also upset to find that other factions seemed to meet no resistance as they moved through Teron hunting its citizens. In his attempts to defend the city, he was caught in warped space multiple times and nearly died. Dago was infuriated with the harlequin for bringing war to Teron but hiding from it. When he kept getting caught in harlequin traps, he chose to join them so that he would have better survivability and be better able to protect Teron.

The harlequin rejected Dago, and he began exterminating them, starting with their leaders. Unfortunately, they “disbanded” before he could really get going, only killing a few of them. He killed them not only for the insult, as he learned that nearly the entire organization had voted against having him, but also for their failure to protect Teron. Dago quickly gained support from other Teronians and other world forces, negotiating truces with the druid and the hammer and allying himself with Terrell in order to bring back the Black Rose organization as the military arm of Teron. He devoted the rest of his life to consolidating power, exterminating the harlequins as they tried to rebuild, and defending Teron against intrusion. I’ll leave the degree of his success as something to find out icly.

Dago wound up with too many alliances with people he disliked and too many wars with people he liked. As he got older, he decided to withdraw from the happenings of the realms and built himself a house in the mountains, where he lives in relative peace, coming down only occasionally to murder random people and listen to the sound they make. He has retired from politics and has opted to just bang his hot delf wife on a daily basis instead.

This was my second character in SK. My kill/death ratio in pvp was 43/4, and it was a lot better than that up until recently. It’s also not very impressive when you consider the fact that he was a rogue. I had a lot of fun with his rp. It was a very challenging concept for me. I deleted because I haven't had too much fun with him recently and the concept is a little tired for me at this point. Big thanks to everyone who rped or pked with me, on either side. You know who you are.

I actually didn't get to see as much of this character as I'd hoped on Mally or my others prior to my necro. However, the brief RPs (edit: the one we had when you killed me in Exile and then you died, and both got rezzed by the same priest sticks out in my mind) we had were obviously enjoyable and I'm yet again impressed with another character of yours, especially considering this was only your second one made in sk.

I hope the ones you are brewing up in that skull of yours are just as fun, if not more so. You contribute a lot to the game and I look forward to what you bring to the table next.

Dago was a great character, and a perfect match for Ealuriel. Thanks for all the fun!

Xonin thought this guy was smart and one who didn't back down from a fight.

Rodwen doesn't remember what he thought of Dago, but he's sure it was something good.

He will be missed.

P.S. I'm going to eat them alive.

Ailee liked Dago quite a bit, found him to be pretty reasonable and very easy to deal with. Sure, there were a few times she wanted him dead, or at least captured and sent to jail, she often found it easy enough to move on with him (especially compared to some of his 'friends').

A pleasure interacting with you, looking forward to some more.

Dago cracked me up and was a continuing source of entertainment with all my characters. Good luck with your current.

An absolute masterpiece of a character imo. When Syrina attacked him for repeatedly making threats against him and then Dago later PK'ing him, I had a time having an enemy, especially someone who was reasonable. When Dago said Icly that he was going to pretty much kill me repeatedly, I was worried at first both icly and oocly at the oncoming onslaught since I didn't stand a chance against you. It relieved me to find out that Dago didn't kill him as much as I was preparing to be killed, so props for that. Sad to see you go honestly..I was wanting to get a kill on Dago. =/

Noez! Why must you do this to poor Paddah!?!?! You shall be missed, I loved him and I really got to know you better as a player on Dago with Paddah, which was quite fun.

You know the time Dago asked Hagrel if they were friends? Hagrel said no, of course, and Dago told him he was lying.

Yeah, Dago was right. The pathological liar and murderer was one of the only people who ever got into the Commander's head, probably because of their surprisingly similar pasts, and was of course perfectly comfortable with everything he found there. When you think about it, though, Hagrel still won in the end. Dago ended up killing the people Hagrel wanted him to kill, with the notable (and very infuriating) exception of Turon.

You're a [REDACTED] for playing a sorcerer and then a rogue. We'll see what your kill:death ratio looks like when your butt has to stay in the front row.

Also...

This wasn't going to happen. Don't even think it ever would.
