Just don't feel like playing sk anymore. The pbase has been whittled away to just a high concentration of douchebags and the few people worth interacting with just don't seem to play much anymore. Wailyn was not even fun, his char concept was never really recognized by anyone and he didn't get past master I dont think. I did like that he managed to make an enemy out of everyone he met somehow. Douglass was simply a blast to play. I decided to go all formal with him and he was simply a man that wanted to be better than everyone else through hard work. He learned a little necromancy from Ilyash and learned how to cleave from a knight he bested in battle to earn the lessons. Can't tell you how many times I heard, "arent you a knight? Cast spells!" Didn't need them. From one-shotting my favorite mage in the head on two occasions to fighting in general, the panthiest helly is worth it. Thank you to everyone that understood that Douglass felt it more appropriate to refer to people by a descriptive nickname rather than their birth name. Shame he never got to gm (or master for that matter). |

Isn't it the thing that we are most annoyed with in ourselves that we instead see in others? Perhaps we're all douchebags, but well, you're one of us too. I love your characters, but never saw these up close. |

Despite how much they are whined about, I always enjoy interacting with your characters. You'll be back. |

Wailyn reminded me of the wicked witch of the west screaming at me 'ill get you my pretty'. But it made me giggle. Douglass was a great char, my favorite of the two. I hope you do manage to come back! |

If I remember right I got along well with Douglass but that was a while ago. I'm sorry you think the players are all douchebags, I guess a different game is what you need if you don't want to have anything to do with the people around here. Dungeons and dragons online is free to play now. I was thinking of taking it up myself but changed my mind. I'll just wait until AOC is free to play, that's coming I think. Though I don't really like AOC. They are just off the mark. |

Edoras and Tragonis posted something to these effect not that long ago figured it was your time! their time is coming soon too and then you'll come back saying you want to give this a try again and what to make now? I think as much realism as SK offers and it's fun to play at times, there is the trauma people have to go through too, like being dead doesn't have an easy way to come back, losing equipment one too many times, being ganked with no visible roleplaying, etc when our expectations for the game far exceeds the enjoyment we get out of it >< but! people change over time, maybe you will find other aspects of the game that's worth playing for, for eg. change cabal/trib to find stronger, more understanding allies that can use your talentes, or something |

Why is that? I think they must just all be so awesome that people are forced to make something 'wrong' with them to be able to complain about. And ya, minette hit it on the head somewhat. It's not just the trauma of no rp kills or finding eq or not getting back to life etc, but its the fact that those are the only aspects of the game lately. Rewards versus punishments is the system that best trains people and that people find themselves struggling willingly in, but sk's system is lacking seriously on the rewards end. And I've been playing a lot of a beta version of a Dota knockoff that is just killer. And in this game, I happen to be a decent pk'er PM me when the player count averages closer to 40 and ill roll something, but until then I cant justify investing so much time in such a small group. BY THE WAY! Not every player left is a douchebag, however when the pbase is as small as it has gotten, the ratio of douchebag to decent players has grown exponentially, as has the probability that the percentage of the pbase that any one character might interact with in their life time will be one of these douchebags. |
