Well, after a couple months off I thought I'd have one last go.

I was pretty pissed about players (not characters) lying oocly about stuff. Posting completely doctored logs to prove a stupid point. (Adtsador)

I was pretty disappointed before that about the play of a certain leader of the GoA before that, who inducted and made co-leader a character in the same 24 hour period - and that person just so happened to be their ooc mate. (Kurst went)

And now whilst levelling up a character, who yes, was evil, I got pkilled whilst sleeping in an inn by a character many levels higher than me. Yes, my character was "evil". But a full loot on a just-expert character without a word? As i said, Bravo to Aradun. You can go post that one and you can all backslap yourselves about how super cool you are.

Anyhow. I thought I'd give it one more go, and it clearly isn't worth the effort. There are some cool people playing this game. But the bad eggs make it unplayable for me.

So long all.

And I was considering to come back, but when I see players that I appreciate a lot leave the game in such bitterness....

Good luck with whatever you do in your life, Sineran. :(

Live by the sword, die by the sword. One of the coolest things about SK is the open-endedness. Simultaneously, one of the suckiest things is the fact that it only takes one douchebag playing CounterStrikeSKā„¢ to ruin your day.

You were one of my favorite players to run around with. I never had a bad interaction with you, and I know that the game will be at a loss without you.

Good luck with whatever you do, I hope you come back.

I get confused with people's forum ID's. Is Sineran = Thran? Imbur? What characters did you play?

I can't blame you. I see SK spiraling down into an abyss of mundane automation. It has always been the great RP'rs that have really made the game fun for me. I've been playing since 1999 and I can say it's not that the level of what you have experienced has gone up. Really it has gone down. It's just that the level of good RP has gone down even further as people get disgusted and leave. The playerbase is only a fraction now of what it once was. I'm sad to say, the next time I leave, it will be for good. Maybe to go find where those great RP'rs of the past went and let the kiddies make SK what they want it to be, their own private little capture-the-relic world.

He played the giant shaman in MC with a four letter name. Started with a b.

Nothing bolsters recruitment and retention quite like a dismally disenfranchised avant-guard.

The incoming Great Roleplayers everyone seems to be missing probably read Afterlife threads like this and decide to take their chances elsewhere with, who knows, a GURPS or BESM D20 group. Either would probably have less Golden Age QQ.

Like Dulrik said elsewhere, though, I'm almost positive the standards of the experienced playerbase are higher than they used to be. Call it Elitism, but I don't like giving the word Elite a bad connotation. There's an interesting aticle here about the same sort of issue within the Final Fantasy product line.

Whether its not liking how CRS engages a character or low player counts for a character to experience or a player "having a life" outside of the game, one should not ignore when the only common denominator in all the list of complaints about the mud is oneself. Playtime shouldn't be a vehicle of entitlement to disapprove of current situations: there are no tenure-track characters, unless I missed an important helpfile. We choose to enjoy the game or not, and only a masochist would play a game they do not enjoy.

tl:dr; the only thing worse than having cancer is hearing about it from a friend

Its a shame I won't get to interact with your characters, sir, and you did not earn most of what I said.

Alas, all good things must come to an end.
