Greetings,

Something I am working on in game involves Slayne, former Knightlord of the Midnight Council. I'm wondering if anyone would be able to post either here, or in a pm to me, information that is NOT a secret, and would probably have been recorded somewhere by some historian or another. It is my misfortune to have not been playing Shattered Kingdoms at the time this character was played, so I'm hoping some of you can help me with these 'public' details. Examples include his last name, notable accomplishments, relative dates, either IC or OOC of these accomplishments/events, race, class, just about anything anyone can tell me about him and what he did during his time on the game that again, would NOT be considered sensitive. Thanks in advance.

SK Character: Ain
EDIT: The historical timeline date is wrong. There was some business about him with the minotaurs that I can't really remember right now.

Copied from Slayne's afterlife thread: found here:
http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/forums ... hp?t=15456

Slayne was an uxmaln born, the son of Cthugan des Granges the high knight of war and a member of the adepts of the blood path. His mother was just a common woman who made the mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, namely where Cthugan was. Cthugan took her and forgot about her. He found out later that she had given birth to a son so Cthugan returned to teron and sought out the babe. Cthugan murdered the woman and raised the babe on Father's blood instead of Mother's milk. Slayne had unnatural abilities given the fact that he was raised on the cursed blood of an adept but he hated his father from early on. Slayne took after his mother and was actually beautiful boy. Cthugan one day took him and told him he would be as ugly as his father was (Cthugan's face had been marred at an early age by a disease he caught in his village in the northern wastelands). Cthugan put his hand to the side of Slayne's face and melted it with hellfire and poisoned it with disease. Whatever love for his father he might have had was purged in that moment.

Slayne was left to fend for himself after that and he wandered the streets of teron drunk for the most part and bullying where he could. He made few friends in the crossroads inn, mainly cutt-throats and drunks. Out of lack of anything else to do, Slayne joined the church of Sargas, mostly because it's all he knew growing up and because he wanted the power to avenge himself on Cthugan. One day while walking down Anarchy's Thoroughfare, Sargas himself manifested to Slayne and commanded him to build an army and to Conquer in his name.

Slayne was overcome with religious zeal and it was the proverbial foot up his arse that he needed to give his life direction. He immediatly started to gain power in the church of sargas and even joined the Court of the Harlequins to attempt to subjugate uxmaln. Slayne had many enemies from the start. Coryn was his rival in the church of sargas and there were many in the court at the time who were not of dark heart and wished peace with the forces of the light. Slayne defeated Coryn and took the lead of the Chruch of Sargas and his conflicts within the Court of Uxmal became epic as the group was split down the middle between support for him and support for the current leaders. Eventually the leaders of the harlequin court ousted Slayne for "not obeying the rules." Slayne was imbittered to them because they had given him their word when he joined that he could still strike down foes of his church no matter what the political climate was. It was the continued murdering of the leader of the fist, a dwarven priest of aludra (Tonth I think?) that they used as an excuse to throw him out for the court had peace with the fist at the time.

Slayne was enraged at those members of the court who orchestrated his ejection, mainly the thubanites who were the most vocal in hating him. From that time on, Slayne hated thubanites with a passion.

But his legacy was not over there. Upon hearing that Slayne was a free agent, the midnight council begged him to join their wanning ranks. Slayne eagerly agreed for he saw a chance to Smite his land's ancient foe from with in. Slayne bid his time and planned a coup against Emperor Maximillion. He began by winning the trust of the council by defeating their enemies in battle. Then he cowed them into fearing him by singlehandedly destroying the champions of the council in personal duels. Slayne was eventually given the title of knightlord and he began his conversion of the council to personal loyalty to him, not Maximillion. The oaths of the council were changed so that any who joined must swear loyalty to Slayne des Granges and to obey his word above all others. When the majority of the council were his personal oathsworn, Slayne struck his blow against Maximillion by publically declaring Maximillion a farce and a lie. Slayne then proclaimed himself the true Emperor of the Bright Star. In a move that suprised even Slayne, the midnight council bowed to him as emperor and there was almost no resistance.

What little resistance there was was quickly executed. The nobles were murdered and the famous seventh legion finished hunting those whom Slayne did not personally behead.

The politics of the Empire were shaky for some time afterwards but eventually they started to solidify and there was no opposition to Slayne as Emperor.

The council grew and slayne grew old. Eventually the Harlequins swore an oath of subjugation to Slayne as their Emperor and thus began the slow consolidation of Uxmaln into the Empire. Something Slayne had dreamed of for ages. With fellow uxmal patriots like Inzaarid, and the long dead Jarold helping him how to best plan uxmal's future, Slayne finally saw his chance come.

Slayne's final act as Emperor was to lead his councilmen in a move against the hammer of light which had made demands that he found amusing and decided to answer them in the most insulting of ways possible.

That's actually not accurate in any manner, Ain.

I'd get with TheCannibal and Achernar via PMs and close this up. They're the two that can tell you the most.

It's a widely known fact that Slayne had Herpes. I won't post any other STD's because those aren't as well known.

How is that innaccurate?

Or were you talking about the minotaur thing. I wasn't playing Slayne anymore at that point so I've no idea what Achernar did with me. =/

When I responded, the thread was a single line long, and Slayne -technically- didn't retire if he was still Emperor when you deleted. So . . . yeah.
