Turon was an effing amazing character.

Very possibly the most impactful character I have been around whenever I have played SK.

Almost too powerful for me to play alongside for fun - The number of times when I played Dorgan I logged on to find that any pkill possibility was already over because you'd already gone 1vs2 or 1vs3 and ganked a pile of folk was amusing but at the same time one of the things that made me look for other pastures!

1000 hours of a villain, I hope it was fun and that you learned something about yourself. Maybe now you can get some more healthy habits and hobbies than sinking (60-26=34 | 903/34=27) 30 hours a week, 4 hours a day, into fantasy roleplaying entertainment.

I hate to be a [REDACTED], but you should learn to use numbers before you come showing your backside on the forums. It's just a [REDACTED] move. Try the RIGHT formula using the fact humans start at 16 (adding 10 more weeks to divide those hours up into...), which destroys what minuscule value you contributed.

If anyone had the ability to make a come back, it was Turon. Big loss for the darkies.

Great character. Really all had been said. Enjoy the summer.

Oh, man. You suck so bad.

RPing with Turon in the MC was one of the few reasons I've even been considering making a character again.

Also, you and Baldric both suck. Ealuriel totally should have been Empress by now. Damn you!

Whatever, Turon might have even succumbed to that path, but you pansied out. At the time I was this close to inducting you again.

It was Pertinax, not Petrus, the paladin you critical cleaved was Norimi, and Sakizar was a hellion of Ain.

But yeah, Ealuriel had no business being a member of any faction except maybe Harlequin. It was semi-manageable with Aldric in charge because he could always slap her around, but even then she was just too volatile to keep around. That's not my fault and it's not Edoras' fault.

And it's kind of funny but true that many of Aldric's wars were just to "keep the men busy." After a couple decades of battle, he realized that conquest in the SK world simply didn't happen, which was very disheartening, since he followed the God of Conquest.

As for not being enthused with "long live the emperor," I don't remember what I did or said then, but it probably consisted of grunting. Aldric's back story included no love for the emperor or even the empire; he served it purely out of a sense of duty and having been bound by his word. Aldric prioritized his faith and his honor well before his faction, actually, though this didn't show too much because his honor dictated that he do everything possible to keep his faction strong.

Thanks for the posts detailing Turon's life. They made for an interesting read. And thanks for the shout out.

*douche-mode return fire*

http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/help/17 (Halfling [26] is right above Human[16])

Jerin, 10 more weeks means it is still 20 hours a week, 3 hours a day. Not including alts. Including averaged 10 hours on alts per week minimum his playtime was no doubt at 4 hours a day OR GREATER.

I'm guessing that you took offense at the conclusion of my post because you yourself have issues with sinking (wasting?) time. It is either that or you don't see the big picture and that is why you would point out something so inane as to correct my numbers, when correcting said numbers still equals out to the conclusion I made.

When I played this game I always had a similar feeling.

It's a love-hate - a time management and addiction problem. Hobby though it may be, and strong contributor to the game that Edoras is.

Not that the entertainment is not valuable, just that I think the argument can be made a lot more productive use can be made of the average SK player's boredom time, and I don't think many players would disagree with that. Thus the complaints about enchanting and why I said "out prioritized". It isn't that Turon/Edoras didn't try and succeed well enough, it is just that his enemies surely invested more time and leverage in their tactics.

Turon rocked.

Your conclusion is pretty fail, especially assuming he had an alt. Because you break it out neatly into hours - how about this? About 2 6.5 hour weekend time-stints (a perfectly reasonable time-sink for a hobby) and about an hour a day the rest of the week, if that. Maybe he had a week off that skewed the numbers? Does it really seem so wasteful at that point? Everyone has hobbies, many of them absorbing a lot of time. The thing is I see the big picture, with reality and all. Everyone has a hobby. And taking all those hours and adjusting them to responsible levels spaced in the week takes it from "addiction" to "hobby" with almost no turbulence in transition.

I have 314 hours on a 13 week old character - one which I have only ever logged in to from outside of work twice ever for no more than an hour total. The math works out to me being 4.8 hours out of a 9 hour work shift, with me being AFK more than 60% of that logged in time time (that anyone who has played with me will tell you), average more hours a week than Turon. I take no offense and am not offended, I just think a creatively fail use of numbers for some 'reality check' is [REDACTED]. You're skewing facts to draw an assumptive conclusion, and ignorance is what offends me.

PS: I saw that, Baldric, and it made my brain hurt.

We're all addicted. We could all be doing more productive things. Throwing stones about it is silly. I would have liked to see more of Turon, not less.

All I really have to say is that Turon was really a perfect embodiment of the strength, honor, and power of the Empire. He was Knightlord for all of Petrus' time in the Council, and never in that time could we have asked for a better leader. If SK had more players and characters like this, it... would be simply an amazing place.

My apologies to Turon for not being a great fellow to PvP with (I just don't think I'll ever get a hang of it) and for dropping off the scene the past few months.

Be well and see you around.
