The night that Ksenia stripped Eberhardt's title and removed him from the Council, she offered him a duel over cabal chat. I remember it quite distinctly and your response was something along the lines of she was not worthy to challenge you.

Nope. That was someone else that offered up a duel as a suggestion. Their was also some moonbat suggesting a marriage (yuck!)

You could have accepted the duel and requested/demanded ground rules like no potions, consumables, etc. I was surprised IC and OOC that you didn't take the offer, since it was pretty clear based on the conversation on cabal chat that Ksenia was going to boot you. You had nothing to lose and everything to gain, in my mind.[/quote]

And it was pretty obvious from the start that I was going to get booted, no matter what happened, so maybe I should have just taken the bloody duel anyways, yes.

Ksenia wasn't going to remove Eberhardt or Syrsani.

They just made a compelling case for it.

To be blunt: I don't actually believe you.

As I recall events, Syrsani requested removal. Probably beating Ardith to the punch on that one.
Eberhardt was removed entirely, basically for saying "No". Not tarnished. Just flat out removed, which I would consider extreme under any circumstance. I'm not stupid, and know the difference between a pre-planned action and an escalating event.

Really, don't take this personally. You're not the first, and won't be the last, victim of a cabal wipe/tweak to favor a more PVP-oriented player.

If you're really still concerned, I'd contact Sadal privately about what to take away from the events, as she's the patron for the cabal. Talking about it here is just giving people more ammunition.

If you were removed as a leader, she would have had to have been involved. If you were removed as a member, it's pretty much at the discretion of the leader who did it.

PvP is a better choice of words than pk. Cabals are inherently a PvP arena. Instead of PvP oriented let's say PvP skilled.

Patrisaurus makes an accurate statement here. I'd take it to heart and let this all roll off your chest, Whinston. No hard feelings.

OA seems like he has some problems. Generally being the high favoured of the god of 'Fear' means that the literal manifestation, the will of fear has confidence in them. If someone can't show respect to someone when a god has basically given them the right away, they can go soak their head.

Eberhardt was a decent voice of a character, but not a strong arm. Perhaps he could have been better utilized by both the player and the cabal.
On the other hand, perhaps he was best left as more of a spiritual leader. Seems the end here came too abruptly and not in synch at all with the kind of message the character was sending.
It's hard to fear a quitter. Someone who turns down a duel... is effectively a quitter. Eberhardt failed to practice what he preached.
And Eberhardt didn't have to be the best fighter out there, but he should have had the charisma (I mean look at the volumes output) to have invoked strong men around him to get the work done. The truth is for all the words, he had not the listeners nor following where it mattered. You can't blame others for that. Not entirely, anyway.

So if you're not the best tactician, nor care about PvP, next time around the block, don't prioritize leading a cabal, and frankly avoid it. It doesn't suit your play style. You'll be less frustrated, and happier. There are places you can, and have, made impacts. Contributions you have made, and a 'character' as far as the drive you had behind it, at least, some of us won't forget, even if it ultimately failed. PS.. I did enjoy reading all his stuff.

Good luck with your next.
