The problem with you people is that you confuse darkie with diabolical. Why on earth a hellion has to be someone who kills on sight? Why can't one be a druid? And of course, why can't a miscreant character be in the guardians? Of course it can, and imho Asraya did it pretty decently. I still remember that time when I became outlawed in Ayamao and she kept LYING to me that she did not know who could pardon me, apparently because she simply wanted me to do my time in jail. That alone is an excellent example about how a miscreant would have acted in her place. And of COURSE she would have attacked Peacekeepers.

The problem (if there is indeed a problem) is not Asraya being in a position; she acted very well fitting her alignment being in it. The problem would be on the ones who PLACED her in that position, since they knew her values and her character.

First of all, I'm sad to see Asraya go to a degree, I only had a few interactions, but you were around for basically all of Ilyash's life so you will be missed by him, even as an unworthy foe.

That was mindblowing rp right there.

As long as there were no undead involved, there is NOTHING wrong with that. Druids live for Balance between light and darkness, not to be the lighties [REDACTED].

Let me be clear here, DRUIDS ARE NOT LIGHTIES. NOT LIGHTIES. They are a grey cabal that is intended to help whichever side is LOSING. This does not mean they always help lighties, in fact if they are, they are ...DOING IT WRONG.

Next,

A lot of people seem to misunderstand what a darkie is.

A darkie does not mean that you go out and randomly start butchering people all the time, or ever. It means that they -can- do it. Every single one of the darkie help files talks about killing...none of them mention anything about having to do it. Just because someone has a dark aura does not automatically make them an [REDACTED], just like if someone is a lightie they are necessarily an angel. Hell, any 'crusader' type lightie is worse then a 'darkie' by the measures of randomly slaughtering people because of aura. Rarely do you ever see a darkie killing ANY lightie, but it's a pretty common occurrence to see a lightie butchering any darkie they encounter.

Quote:
Miscreant characters believe in using any means possible to further their
own personal goals, not really caring who gets hurt in the process. They do
not seek to kill or hurt others, except in cases of revenge, but they do end
up hurting the unfortunate few who are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"They do not seek to kill or hurt others"
Can they? Yes. Do they have to? Hell no.

Quote:
They do not enjoy the act of killing in itself, but do find pleasure in
killing for the sake of revenge or honor. Aberrant people tend to be
very fair and loyal friends, but are swift and harsh when dealing with those
who are against them. They make the greatest allies, and the worst enemies.

Make great allies! Are all around friendly except to those who are against them! These guys are just plain fluffy, again there is nothing there about having to be an [REDACTED] or killing people.

Quote:
Diabolic people need not follow normal rules of
conduct, they can be the nicest, most generous person in the world one
moment, and the next, stab you in the back and steal everything you own.

Finally, the worst of the worst....diabolic. As you can plainly see Diabolic chars don't have to follow -any- of the common rules, in fact they don't even have to look outwardly insane. Anyone who meets Ilyash, especially a lowbie will think he's a fluffy lightie... but that doesn't meant that he doesn't have his...darker side as most people who've interacted with me at length know. Still, I go out of my way to be as courteous as possible in terms of both IC and OOC things (like not junking loot unless it was done to me first) even while I go about my diabolical plans.

While I would hate to derail the thread, I have to agree and disagree with couple of things said.

Firstly yes perhaps it's my fault in seeing how alignments should be played, I take all the quotes from the help files as my lesson now humbly, and will try to be more tolerant on dark aura people roleplaying nice people (you can blame my errors on me playing an elf).

Secondly I still see some problems.

If you are in alliance with elves and know that they are allied with taslamar, should you go and "OF COURSE" murder people in the streets of Exile? (not even mentioning you do it arm in arm with those your allies are at war with).

If I was wrong in thinking that druids are tightly connected to Nashira's church, you can skip the next part, I am still being wrong there ;)

Druids are not lighties, that is for sure, but they are not to balance the world between dark and light and help any loosing side! (Do you really imagine the druids digging up some old corpses because the paladins of Pyrathia just killed the last undead there one day? Would they ever stand with the necromancers?)
I see druids as protectors of nature, people who would fight for that, but at the same moment far from agreeing with philosophy of war or conquest. The spheres of the gray gods are not about morals, they dont take sides in the war between light and dark.
All above explains (at least to me....) why I don't see a fervent follower of another deity in their ranks (which a hellion cetainly is). Also, living in one forest and being allied to pointy eared folk who keep their city populated with paladins, you should think before you invite into that forest one of their mortal enemies - a hellion. (does causing harm, plague and burning with hellish fire sound like a spellset for a nature loving person?)

Pardon me Allikat for posting here, I have much respect for your RP skills, and I think you know that, it's perhaps me having problems with grasping some IC concepts, which made me see your character in a different light.

Your interpretation of the Druids goals are incorrect, Eruntalon. There are ties to Nashira but it is so much more than that. So, w/o giving away anything I will leave it like that.

I thought it was quite interesting to have the Guardians shook up again. People's stereotypes tested. Well played char, good luck on your next.

Eruntalon, you can always copy your post into a new thread and have this discussion there.

Actually, if the paladins killed all the necromancers, then the Druids would go out to kill all the paladins, and probably a few hellions as well, to make sure things ended up balanced in the end.

Many thanks for the diplomacy rp and the chance to complete something that I had started abandoning after Strai's death. I'll agree with Yoru that the miscreant alignment was really well played, at least from what I saw. Good luck with your next character.

SK Character: Galida Apelila Shaloush Mayumi
I interacted with Asraya a couple times as Shaloush. There was the big event where Asraya and Shaloush along with some other non-fisties helped the too-few fisties fail to defend fist hq and then the newly-rezzed Shaloush and newly-rezzed Aiden helped Asraya fail to defend the druish hq. I think my Shaloush-tude monopolized the "dead person" rp that followed, but it was personally enjoyable.

Another event was one of those "drama RP for drama" events. I don't do well with them and always feel out of place but it was moderately enjoyable, slightly warmer than tepid cocoa sort.

I only found out after this event that Asraya was Allikat. Someone else told me it was so. I saw nothing in Asraya that suggested "I'm going to blow up soon" in the RP. And, having experienced a multitude of Allikat chars in eons gone by, I can say without a doubt Asraya does not fit in the Allikat mold as the connotation suggests.

I didn't hate Asraya at all. I found her to be quirky and unpredictable. Which drove my character absolutely fing nuts. Caeserea made a blatant point of not trusting Asraya, which oddly enough Asraya let slide off her back every time.

Tenacious little imp.

Good luck with the next one :)
