So no, I was never great at that over-blown game of "Capture the flag" that all the kids are so wild about, and PK was never high on my agenda to begin with, which is why you'll hardly find any potions on me. Still, Eberhardt did get some pretty cool things done. The Shipyards in Seawatch got completed, largely because I got that project going again, and wrote a good portion of the descriptions. Ditto with the Nightmare Tower (where I helped to instigate a mass slaughter on the lighties that tried to stop it), and the Shrine of Nightmares in Krychire.
Eberhardt was not a PK driven character, because PK is only part of the game, and he was not a CRS driven character, because I think that CRS is stupid, and has done more to kill SK than any other factor, short of WoW. Don't think that he wasn't serious because he didn't follow a given style of play. There was often much more at work than what met the eye.

As someone that has never had a character in the same faction with you before, I was pretty disappointed that Eberhardt backed down when challenged by Ksenia. It made the note you posted later, which was mostly OOC complaints about Ardtih as a player and even went as far as to mention two of his other characters, seem like sour grapes.

You should have accepted that duel when Ksenia offered it. Your note implied that you think everyone joined MC to do a coup against you and Syrsani, which is nonsense. I created my warlock for two reasons: to capture the Fist relic and to kill Wudan once it was captured. Mission accomplished on both goals, with the second being done via proxy (thanks Ernasses).

However, back to my point. Had you accepted that duel and beaten Ksenia, my character would have supported you. Instead, you backed down and made a feeble excuse, which made Eberhardt seem incredibly weak. Then you made veiled references to people forming an OOC clique to take over the MC - that is just paranoia on your part. I really didn't care who led the cabal, as long as it didn't interfere with my character's plans.

Good luck with your next.

I don't recall Ksenia ever offering a duel. Someone else suggested it, neither of us went along with it. I will probably always think that my being kicked out of MC was OOC driven by the previous failed coup. For the most part I was not equipped for a duel. Seriously, have you ever looted me before? You will not find an herb or potion and barely a coin on my person.

Sounds like you took a paladin's vow.

The night that Ksenia stripped Eberhardt's title and removed him from the Council, she offered him a duel over cabal chat. I remember it quite distinctly and your response was something along the lines of she was not worthy to challenge you.

You could have accepted the duel and requested/demanded ground rules like no potions, consumables, etc. I was surprised IC and OOC that you didn't take the offer, since it was pretty clear based on the conversation on cabal chat that Ksenia was going to boot you. You had nothing to lose and everything to gain, in my mind.

I hadn't been a leader of anything for something like four months by that point. Instead, it just seemed I existed to be blamed for things I had no control over (because I wasn't a leader) and thus, i was kicked out for failure to kiss [REDACTED], and crawl.

Oh.

Yeah, that's normal with certain playstyles involved. Sorry you had to find that out the hard way.

I'm sure it wasn't personal.

I'm pretty sure that it was.
In any case, this character existed for more than a year, and all anyone can remember is his last two months. WTF?

It's like a soliloquy; the last two lines are what set the tone for all the conversations about it. Don't sweat it. Live, learn, and then if it seems like a fun idea, live again. ;-)
