There was a time in history, when someone who made a character whose name was "Win" with an extra "n" tagged on at the end of it would be deleted.

Unfortunately, we no longer live in this era.

(In the event that the above statement is false, I will none the less cling desperately to a misinformed golden age syndrome, preferring to imagine that we have fallen from grace than to realize that we never once achieved it.)

When I saw the name, this is the first usage I thought of:

wyn-nn\ as a girl's name (also used as boy's name Wynn), is a variant of Winifred (Welsh, Old English) and Wynne (Welsh), and the meaning of Wynn is "holy, blessed reconciliation; joy and peace; fair, pure".

Yes, it was misspelled, but I was aware that, as pronounced, it was a real old english name, which is exactly the kind of name that we'd prefer to see on SK. I think the only failure to live up to the golden age syndrome here is that people automatically read Win/Lose instead of imagining it might be a real name.

I worked with this delightful little cherub named Wynn when I was younger, I should have given her some old english. *sigh*

Most of my characters names come from Celtic, English, French, and Roman decent.
