This player is manipulating the facts of the situation. He lost HF for refusing to invest seekers and instead making them find the other HF.

Completely disregarding the constant bantering of Dark-Avenger versus the non-friendlies in the playerbase, Dark-Avenger's contribution to this game has been relatively substantial. Both his roleplaying skills, where it contains a great depth of background all the time, as well his player killing skills, including the knowledge of mechanics and areas were brilliant. Very few can match that in history.

It was difficult for me to tell others about Dark-Avenger; when we have all played the game (and our characters) for so long, such as Dark-Avenger being a darkie more often than not, we sometimes relate the players with their characters. Being his enemy is probably the most unejoyable experience ever, yet on the same side, he had always proved to be a boon to have when the need arise.

I happen to agree with him about magma being almost too powerful, but I try to see the other side of the arguments. I also give the topic a rest when I don't find the others agreeing. He just keeps on going. I know. Most Greek men (who play/played SK) rarely waver from their beliefs. It's a trait!

Anyway, RIP Yotbol, during the golden era of Black Hand, it was feared from the other side, mostly because he was in it.

Since I've gotten over my initial indignance of his fact twisting, I'll say that few players are as good of a leader as DA, when he's playing. I really do wish he could get over his grudge against the staff and just play the game. I believe he had a lot to offer. He did make the Hand the most impressive group in years. I don't think any one player is as responsible for that as him. Its just sad this player can't see past the nose on his face to spite himself. I've given him leader flags. I've removed them when he wasn't using them. I feel bad that he thinks he was being singled out. I don't feel bad for doing my job. I hope he comes back and really demonstrates all that he is, when he's less grudgy.

I'd actually argue that Benjamin was the biggest contributing factor in that, but Yotbol definitely played a very large part.

So long DA. I enjoyed your characters IC and I enjoyed your perspective on things OOC.

I am going to miss you and things just wont be the same with you gone.

The flag thing though is a common practice. That is why Emet had f2 and I could never blemish him, cause Drasaij refused to invest him, so the Imms invested him with f2 for ooc reasons. It happens and it sucks when it does happen, but it is just a game and the imms goals are to make the game fun for EVERYONE, not just individuals.

DA is a very skillful player, and he can be inspirational for those who are allied with him, as much as he can be hated by those who are against him. Yes, he did gather all the loot too often, but then again, he never kept things he wouldn't use on himself but distribute it around. I know that many had grudges about many things about him, hell, I wouldn't stand him when he didn't know when to stop in the forums myself. Yet, we all have to recognize that he is a player that he has contributed to this game in various ways, and a very talented one.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do, man, and if you roll another character, best of luck with it too.

Considering the length and breadth of his character's achievements - let alone simply the lifespan and notoriety - I for one simply thank him for his contribution to the game.

The bizarre footnote that an immortal taking some action ruined the entire experience seems disproportionate, hopefully the negative experiences were few and far between (play long enough and anyone is going to stub their toe eventually).

May your next character be just as creative and interesting. And if you choose to move on, then simply ...thanks again for spending time here.

I've had good memories with Dark-Avenger dating all the way back Aresius and Valthanos, Yotbol was no different, I have plenty of golden memories of Yotbol as Cerrilius. I'd agree probably DA's best character, DA's knowledge of the game is something to be appreciated, I've learned a great many things from him over the years. I always enjoyed having him on my side. He was a large reason the Hand was so powerful for a prolonged period of time(that and the sheer amount of talented players we had).

Good luck with whatever you do.

From my paladin Febriwyn to my hellion Benjamin, DA has always been one of m favorite players, he sticks to his guts, and plays better than nearly all of us. The Black Hand successfully destroyed the rest of the realms for 6+ months, stronger than I've ever seen any cabal or tribunal in recent years, and something that would have stomped the MC that many of them played those many years back. DA rocks, there is nothing more to be said, playing alongside Yotbol and Kepreen were golden times for me.

Sad that DA won't be playing our game any more.

He may have been a hoarder but if you played on his side you had all the loot you could dream of. I liked Yotbol and saw him a lot as Urif, didn't see Kepreen much.
