Okay, she's dead. (What do you mean I can't say just that?!?!?!)

Alright....

So here it goes.... At the time I was still playing Avaleena, I didn't like how the Aludran faith was being portrayed. I didn't like how it had been portrayed in the past, either. I got this notion in my head to make an elven priestess, soft-spoken, polite to a fault, and just show the Compassionate side of the faith. That was my only intention. The completely ironic thing was that at that same time, my RL sister made an elven priestess with a similar concept, yet NEITHER of us told the other what we were doing.

She was pretty active during most of her life. I had a break for a semester because I was going to school and working and my son started school. I gave up Jeruvere completely and focused on Lirimaer mostly. I took another break towards the end because I was just sick of a lot of the BS pettiness that goes on around here. The forums are just poisonous at times.

That said, on to Lirimaer

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't want Lirimaer to be a typical sylvar or even a sylvar. I created the idea of the moon elves. It really was not very far fetched. After all, elves are attuned to nature. The moon was once a symbol of Aludra, so it tied in nicely to Lirimaer.
When she started, she was very polite and quiet. She was always thankful to Arwen Mela (Lady Love) and Father Moon. And from the beginning, I'd get ooc tells dissing the use of 'Tolkienese.' I had a very particular site that I got the language from and I didn't ever have her completely speak in the language except to sing a song that her mother used to sing to her as a child.
She had two mentors, Elriorith and (sorry J!) Harlequin Priestess of Death. Her different nature got her into a lot of trouble from the beginning. No one ever truly understood what she was up to because I don't think she ever truly understood herself.
Almost everything she did had a purpose but she was not always very open about those purposes. She often felt very alone, no matter how many people she was around. She was a caring, compassionate soul. I know there were some people who wanted me to log her in for them to apologize and that makes me chuckle. They never needed to apologize because the moment they felt that desire, they were forgiven. That was her nature. If someone truly was sorry, they'd be forgiven.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So here we go to the thanks:

I want to start with Slayne. He gave Lirimaer a chance to do something different. Each one was trying to manipulate the other. The amount of headaches and roleplay generated from their 'alliance' was a lot of fun. I wish we would have been able to finish it properly though. To a worth chess opponent, a great big thank you.

To Carita and Tonth, Lirimaer would NEVER agree with how you two ran things, not until the end. Where Tonth is concerned, she eventually could understand that he was trying but he was a dwarf and rough around the edges. Where Carita is concerned, it always became Lirimaer's hope that in the afterlife Carita was reunited with Ruri because the two were so perfect for each other.

To the Daemon Rift group: Could we have been a little MORE unorganized that day? OMG was that a barrel of laughs and frustrations with that RP. A very big thanks to the Nashira at the time who ran that GRP event. Holy cow was it huge and a pain, but so much fun!

To the Guardians: Yes, she was a pain in the arse from the word go. She was really, really never meant to be a Guardian or a leader and always felt like she failed there. She joined as a promise to Aelraen to help watch over Ayamao and keep it safe. She felt she owed him that much. Real life, especially that knee injury, kept me from playing and being able to keep her around. I'm sorry for that.

To the Aludrans: Ezeant, I'm sorry I disappeared, RL got the better of me. To Caes, she didn't need to, she knew she'd have it. Avice, beloved troublemaker. So many came and went during Lirimaer's time in the faith. Even if your name is not popping into my mind (I have a huge headache) most of you are remembered somewhere, and fondly. Those are not are numbered in 2, same player each time. (Which means yes I remember Tonth, Carita and Amadeo fondly) Ave...something Knight of Aludra...a beautiful concept and I wish I could have seen him live up to his full potential.

To Achernar and Algorab: Thank you for all of your help with the faith over the couple of years. It was a honor and a joy to work with you both. You both let me get away with some pretty cheesy projects over the years, so thank you. :)

To Nashira(s): Thank you for the help you gave to Ayamao and to me. Thank you for the gravemaker for Aelraen and the redesign of the temple in Sith'a'niel.

To Sithara and Lina, no Liri almost never agreed with you but all three were working in different ways for the same thing. Liri was the constant soft-heart who wanted to try to better things without violence. Perhaps she was naive but, that was her goal. Still, when they weren't being pains in her butt, she had to admire their Devotion to their causes. She just didn't have to say it outloud.

OMG, edit because I'm a poopy-head. PHREYA! OMG, I can't forget her. Phreya did some awesome RP work with Liri for an impromptu special RP (with an IMM helping, Thanks Imm!) plus Phreya was always around for fun.

Plus, I just got reminded of something else...Furaha and Luorei. It was never anything personal, purely IC and I wasn't just asked to deal with it by Amadeo IC'ly but by IMMs too. What was going on may not have been against the rules but it did turn a few people's stomachs. Whether you want to believe it or not, Liri thought she was helping. But like many things Liri did, she got it wrong in trying to help. She needed it exposed enough that it stopped, but she also was trying to protect them from being hunted and killed. Oi the conversations with Oraeus and Gork to keep them from hunting her. Liri could only protect Furaha as long as she was a Guardian. It generated a lot of RP and I would hope that in the end, the love that Liri and Furaha had for Ayamao was more important than their personal issues, which I hope got mended by the end.

To the many, many people who befriend Lirimaer over the span of her life (or hated her over the span of her life) thank you for the memories and the roleplay. I'm not a PKer by any stretch of the imagination but I do enjoy the roleplay. Nemarosa, always my favorite and one of Liri's. Alifer, you pain in the arse, still a favorite. Faenor, GIANT Guardian, still a favorite. Sheesh, limping halfling...I can see his name...and it's escaping like the wind...LOVED him (Desdomos). Enfield, LOVED him! Stair, Sterk, Shinrein, Ruri, Eruntalon, all loved for different reasons. Holy cow people, I can't list everyone that Lirimaer loved over the years or that I loved to interact with because she just age died....

OMG, I gotta stop posting with headaches...because I forgot someone who was so utterly, utterly defining of this character. Holy crud! I did not mention Aelraen and that's really, really dang important. If ever there was a couple so odd to be together, it was them. These two loved each other deeply but they were so different that it was very hard for them to understand each other. Liri had all kinds of preconceived notions of how relationships were supposed to be. Aelraen had quite a different set of ideals. Aludra had to come down and have a talk with Liri about it. In the end, after Aelraen's death, the Guardians were used to fill a void in her life. Eruntalon was her other distraction and she loved him for how much like her that he was. Still, it was some of the things that Caes said that really impacted Liri. She always tried to be the happy person on the outside and never show people how much it hurt her to not have Aelraen around. He was her rock and I think the only one who truly understood what he was to her was Eruntalon. So a very, very big thanks to Aelraen/Johnix for the year of roleplaying. Also, a very grateful thank you to Eruntalon for putting up with Lirimaer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So in conclusion, let's see how many characters I had on the side during her lifespan:
Mariella - OMG was she nuts, Chaos HF married to a Hammer leader
Ourania - Hammer hot-temper
Jeruvere - High Dame of the MC, HF of Fear
Zahatna - Elven follower of Alshain
Aliora - Lucky Tarot Reader
Veryien - Very confused warrior
(There was a priestess of wisdom in there, too)
(A male character in there)
And I'm sure that there are others I've forgotten...
So the era that included Lirimaer is over...the book is closed, flame on.
Ding dong the witch is dead!
Oh wait.. Sorry.
I was actually wondering how much long it'd be until she'd be gone.
I really can't remember her with any other character except Strai(who didn't even get mentioned :( ), and one encounter with Treno when I was killing priests in Sith :P , but although I may not always have agreed with her actions I really did like Lirimaer.
Have fun :drunk:
I have a headache. A really, really bad one.
The players of Ravenne and Feanor know how much I loved the characters and appreciated the roleplay that they generated.
For those who don't remember, Ravenne was a shaman and light-hearted. Feanor was obviously quite the opposite.
And, PESO, I cared enough about Feanor to log in and post in his afterlife...
Holy cow...she's just died after like...ages, you want me to remember everyone...?????? :P
*gasp* I can't believe you forgot Phreya! :P
But thanks for all the fun RP. I remember doing that little RP with Liri in the middle of the night totally winging it then having that IMM pop in on it too. Great fun, tons of backlash for it too! I was kinda stunned over it. But I will always have fond memories of those times.
He murdered his mom that's why! (j/k)
Much love for Liri. Aelraen spent 80 or more years with her and like it was said in his afterlife they were as mismatched as orange and green which just made it fun.
On the other side of the fence Feanor tried to do as much harm as he could to her both because of her church and her guardian leadership. I can't even count how many bad words he tried to spread for her. He would kill her without a second thought. In the end I guess her love and teachings showed him what really mattered. I just wish she was more active during that time. Thanks for the fun times!
The 'failure' in Tonth and Carita was their utter contrast yet still belief they could co-exist. The unfortunate result on that is that neither could take 'ultimate' responsibility or authority for things the other did. They treated each other like relative equals, and tended to agree to disagree a lot. When certain individuals made it clear they had no understanding as to why I did not 'run him out,' and a few other things happened, I just dropped the character like a hot potato. I've better things to do with my time then be told 'how to play a character,' etc, then by someone IC who demonstrated a lack of respect to my character's position and persona both. I bullied down on her behavior, but then thought it was unfair of me to do that due to her ignorance/lack of knowing much of the RP going on that she was just ignorant about of at the time. Apart from the personality conflict, the character was working hard to carve a name out. It was clear that I was unhappy playing, and she was thriving, so I moved on. So ultimately, glad it worked out. I just wish that the reason behind the character and motivation was different because it really affected the interactions of what might have been otherwise a good combination.
Ah dear,
My mentor, my teacher.
I will never forget the experiences shared on about any level.
The depth of the role play, the encouragement of helping a naive player grasp at personal level of things. I always tried to understand, but could not always 'go' in the direction of the teachings, due to the direction I tried to take the lad, which I fear I never did quite complete as much as I wanted, but to a level at least I was proud of, as far as not 'breaking' a character to 'fit in,' but yet despite multiple struggles, to actually grow in tiny increments with each interaction, even if it was not to the satisfaction of any of Amedeo's mentors.
The best thing I will remember of Lirimaer was the tenacity at which she pursued the defining of the faith and her cooler attitude with sticking to her guns to see certain matters carried through, as far as acceptability of actions, and people's responsibility to carry their weight in the faith. It became easy to want to spend as much time as possible around her, at least for me, (sometimes to her pain and headache suffering) to question many things, seeking greater understanding, and to treat her in most ways as a mother-type figure.
Beloved,
A :wink:
I can't remember how far back Lirimaer goes, and I know I haven't interacted with her in ages, but I recall enjoying it when I did. I just don't remember who I was playing at the time.
