I enjoy the game as much as I used to. Perhaps more. I take pride in seeing the community in its current state. I know that I have memorable characters as much as I used to. I have seen the game change. I think that many trends are intervening. I believe that the focus of the implementor is most apparent in the aspects of combat, quests, and leveling. I would say that the full spectrum of player(ASEK) that existed then still exists now, but I think their proportions are different. I would guess this is true for all online gaming, as its popularity increases.
SK appeals to all kinds of players for different reasons. The whole picture of SK is that it does evolve from necessity and by the players themselves. The subjective part which cannot be measured is role-play. Anyone reading this post has contributed to that for better or worse. We should all take pride in this. I believe that we provide a mix of all of these things for players. That we can allow for a variety of playstyles is maddening to some, but it makes SK a better game. The more welcoming we can be as a community, the better our chances of long survival. Face stabbing in the game does not mean I do not welcome your player. So please don't see it that way.
