I started Phreya really for all the wrong reasons, but I ended up completely loving this game and the character and I really wish at some point I can get back to that feeling. I set her adjective as “spritely” purposefully misspelling because it seemed funny to me at the time and I thought I would have so many people make comments about it, but only once was I told I would probably have to change my adjective and that was about a month before I deleted her, so a good year and a half into the character.
Phreya didn't have much of a backstory, she was born in the bamboo forests of Zhenshi to a small clan of mostly Sunsparks but the patriarch of her little family was a Cloudrunner from the far north. Her great great grandfather had been an adventurer and on one of his journeys had met a young sunspark and bonded immediately choosing to stay in the south and raise a family. Phreya grew up hearing all the tales of his adventures and the romanticism of him putting it all aside for the one he loved. She was a romantic wanderer at heart although I had no plans for her past just fooling around with the game for maybe a month or so.
Her family built their houses and everything they needed from the bamboo they cut and she became well suited to using duel blades to make the work go faster. He aptitude with blades continued her whole life and as she left her home to make her own adventures she carried her blades wherever she went.
During her journeys she met a young peacekeeper named Eyrios. I owe so much to the player of this character and the character for taking Phreya as a charge and teaching me the basics of the game and giving me a basis for Phreya's RP that lasted her life. When the time came that Eyrios could no longer mentor Phreya, he had become second in Command of the Keepers and offered her a position as part of the guard. And here I was torn with what to do with her up until that point she existed as a sort of free spirit, going where the winds would take her not being tied down to one place. Conflicted as she was, she sought the followers of Sadal hoping they might shed some light on what it was she should do. What became clear to her was that she was a child of the winds. Going where the Tempest's winds might blow her. She knew she could not stay tied to the desires of one country and instead devoted herself to Sadal in the hopes of continuing to gain insight into the path woven for her.
Not long after she was brought into the faith, she met a young sprite of Marfik named Resren. She was sitting at the Hart and Rose in exile waiting to tell Eyrios of her decision when a rather large blue sprite attached himself to the beer pump drinking himself into oblivion. He was so funny and charming, even as drunk as he was, that Phreya was completely caught up in his whirlwind. The rest of their story I suppose is history.
Phreya was soon called upon by Sadal to act as an interpreter and collector of dreams in order to discover and close a demon portal opened in Ayamao. For me to describe that whole event and Phreya's involvement would be another post in and of itself. But I do want to thank everyone who Rped with me during that. I know most of the characters involved were played by veteran players and were also much more advanced level wise than I was. But still I felt welcome during the whole RP. Special thanks during that RP go to Oreaus and Aelraen who both made it a point to RP with Phreya at any possible time. Even though we often played at opposing hours.
Sometime during that RP, Phreya was also brought into the Harlequins. Although I knew at the time that the Harlies were mostly dark I felt that Phreya would fit and so she joined. Thanks to Tshotha for the fun Rps in that as well. Although I did get dragged into way more than I had hoped at times and still trying to stay true to Phreya. Another fun RP moment with the harlies was when we had no leader and Jotham and Phreya went through this sort of crazy mess interviewing and getting Ghimgul inducted. It was great fun and thanks to both players and the Imm who helped us afterwards. I had a lot of good times with the Harlies and eventually Phreya became their leader although, she was never really suited for leadership, nor was I, so it was rocky at best.
Phreya also became the high follower of Sadal, I think perhaps this was the highlight of her life. She went through a lot, but she was determined to follow her path as she was shown it and I did what I could to keep her RP consistent even if it was perhaps more grey than lighty.
Thanks go to everyone who did religion interviews with me. They were some of my favorite RP moments. In fact I have to say as conflicted as things became in the faith of Sadal early on, the Rps with Daigath, Sithara, Eilsys and Stocaryn were some of my favorite and most memorable. I can honestly say that a lot of the past year and half with her was a lot of fun. But time is not on my side for this game, and my abilities to look past some of the things that angered me about it have lessened due to extraneous stressors. So I may be back, but not for a bit longer. Thanks again to everyone who made it fun for me. I am pretty sure you know who you are even if I have not mentioned you here.
