A change that won't get put in soon, at least I doubt it, but I still would like to discuss it.

Let's go with a mercenary for this example. You've been dirt kicked and can't see, but you still want to keep fighting. You swing in random directions hoping you hit something. Each time you miss, you get more and more tired. Eventually, you'll hit something. You don't know what you hit, but you hit it, so you start fighting it.

That's the example. Basically, I want to be able to start a fight while dirt kicked. You try to start a fight with a random being in the room, and could be in your own party. There is a chance that you'll not hit anything, and this should drain some PE, 5% or so, who knows. Discuss.

This could also work when you are blinded, too. *shrug*

When you get dirt kicked combat starts anyways, so that would only be applicable if you killed the target that dirted you or if the person who dirted you fled. In either of those cases your mercenary example is inapplicable.

You could also argue that initiating combat in a room with people who aren't in either groups would have a very high chance to get pulled into combat. The list goes on and on. I'd argue your example is less than likely. I don't know about you but I'd attack in the direction the person who dirted, not to the side of me or behind.

That's exactly what I mean. I've been dirt kicked on the last round of combat with an enemy before. Had to sit there and wait. It sucks. I guess this could really be targeted towards blind, since that lasts a lot longer to wear off.

Why don't we worry on how to make the game better, not more realistic.

Who's to say more realistic isn't better? And before you raise the fantasy card, making attacking while dirt kicked or blind more realistic does not affect the fantasy factor of this game at all.

P.S. Why don't you start a thread consisting of ways to make the game better? That's what I'm trying to do, honestly.

All I trying to point out is this.
Would you like to start a game where when you are dirt kicked (which happens a lot in the starting areas) your HP drains faster and faster?

What? No? You don't auto keep fighting. I'm confused...You get dirt kicked. You kill the guy who dirt kicked you. You can sit there to wait for the dirt kick to wear off, or you can try to start another fight. If you fail to hit anything, your PE lowers.

This would be a funny idea just for the humor of watching people swing around blindly and attack their allies.

Will it be implemented? Eh, I doubt it. Still would be funny though.

This doesn't fit the idea of a highly trained soldier at all. If you've taken any form of martial arts then you'll understand that there are actual targets on your opponent's body that you'll be aiming for, and all of your training will be relaxed into muscle memory. It's the same idea behind firing a gun, using any weapon, or playing FPS games. It's all muscle memory. Your body is trained that way. The mercenary isn't suddenly going to be swinging in random directions, unless he wants to look like an utter idiot.

If you want to test this out, you can take some flour and toss it in your eyes. Do you suddenly feel like attacking something? I didn't really think so. But this is a semi-harmless way of simulating the effects of dirt kicking as it will immediately dry out your eyes and force a period of blindness, at least until it can be cleared up.

For more bad advice you can PM me.
