Why can't you trip with a reaching weapon while mounted? I don't see why having your feet be on the ground would make any diffrence. I mean if your using short weapons it makes sense that you would have to be on the ground so you can trip, because your using your feet. if your using a pole arm to trip someone though... it just doesn't make sense.

You try tripping someone while on a horse with your polearm.

But nice try trying to get your build buffed. On that note, rogues should get track. Scouts need third attack sooner and an improved PE regen skill. Barbs should get trip. Mercs should get berserk. Griffons should be evil. Sorcs need innate bash. Shamans need innate bash. Hell, let's just give them trip while we're at it. Reaching trip while mounted, of course.

Tripping someone while you're on horseback sounds incredibly difficult. Bashing them makes sense to me, though.

Seriously.

You forgot that Necromancers need Enchant Armor/Weapon.

Well you should at least be able to trip people with reaching weapons when your flying. But I disagree about it being really hard to trip someone from horseback. It's not like it takes any strength, you just put your pole arm in between their legs and when they try to maneuver theirs a good chance they'll fall. I mean it may be hard, but it's not as hard as it would be for a sprite to trip a giant. I mean i'm not an expert on medieval weaponry, but for some reason it doesn't seem like much of a stretch at all for someone mounted to trip someone... I mean people get pretty good on their horses. People lasso bulls and stuff. How hard would it be to hook someones foot and pull them off their feet?

The realism argument aside, it's not clear why this would be a good thing for balance. It seems like it would be a huge buff to Hammer mercs. Don't think they need any buffs. It is good to know that you're playing one, though. :P

I believe this change was made a while back when prone was put into the game. If you give reaching trip while mounted, you have to give swashbucklers the ability to trip while mounted. Both of the changes would really only benefit Hammer. If any cabal/tribunal/skill needs a buff, it's definetly not the Hammer or trip. Go tweak hellions.

Swashies would the ability to trip while mounted, they'd just need a landskecht. And yeah it would be terrible for the hammer to get a buff.... oh wait tribunals always > cabal.

Well, what's the difference between a swashbuckler in front while mounted trying to trip front row and a mercenary in second while mounted trying to trip front row?

They both have their benefits. Paladin tribunals have the benefit of HW and bolt. Kinda imbalanced but what do I know. Why don't hellions get HW?

Anything a Paladin has that a Hellion does not, the hellion makes up for it with their own Unique skill/spell as does the Paladin. That's exactly why Hellions don't get Holy word.
