Not sure if this is in a help file I am overlooking, or if its something you can find out in game through ic resources. Never worked with weapons and armor really so don't know much about the quality of certain types. I was wondering if there is any way to tell if one type of metal is better than an other. When I compare two swords for example, one made from cold iron and one made from steel, I get they are equal. I am not concerned with damage, speed, and accuracy. More along the lines of the actual quality. Are some weapons stronger quality, meaning they wear down less and damage higher quality armor easier? |

So, why/how is an adamantite falchion better than a mithril one? And why both are better than a tanso steel one? |

Exactly, is there a help file rating the different metals? Is it something I can learn from ic resources? Is it something you must learn by trial and error and from asking other characters? Or is it something openly discussed? |

only difference material makes is durability. Naturally you'll want the rare materials as they don't break down as fast as others or are completely indestructible. |

Yeah diamond, adamantite, energy, and mithril tend to be the toughest materials but as far as damage goes the weapon type is the deciding factor in that. An steel longsword does just as much damage as an energy one. You'll also want to consider racial weaknesses when considering material. For instance cold iron will do much more damage against some races just look in the help files for the races to find out which |

Perfect, thanks! So is there really no way to tell what weapon has stronger durability though, similar to the compare function. |

I've broken mithril weapons on dragonscale. |
