Post subject: | An idea on PVP and looting |
Well I just had this crazy idea that I thought was pretty cool cause I am not a fan of the mid-combat "get all corpse;put all container" crap that is rampant in PVP these days. Anyhow my idea is to put a lag timer on looting items from pk'd corpses. Something perhaps like the lag of a brandish of a stave, or recite of a scroll per item. Nothing ridiculous, but something to promote role play and demote the grieving of players by taking useless items simply because "get all corpse;put all container" is the easy way out. It also holds water from a realistic stand point cause I'd imagine its fairly hard to disrobe a limp body...Not that I'd know or anything *cough* and not that I'm for REALISM in SK, but this just seemed like a solid idea to me so I felt I should post it. FLAME ON! |

I like it, the spoils of war should go to the victor. The victor being the last team left on the field. Like you said it's also rather difficult to remove items of clothing from a limp body, certainly not something a person could pull off in combat, while fighting an enemy. This still doesn't prevent the stealing of a few choice items mid combat, players would just have to pick and choose the best items if they want to loot and run. |

As long as my 37 wraiths can still individually get one item from a corpse, my looting time isn't affected. ........ Stupid change. Worse than being unable to order NPCs to pick up 'PC' corpses because that would be wrong, but they are allowed to pick up NPC corpses. Unrealistic random [REDACTED] change made because looting is "awful." |

If you're in melee, you shouldn't be able to loot a corpse. Or if you do you there should be a lot of lag. If you're not in melee, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to grab things out of a corpse. |

If you're in a group that's in combat the lag should still effect you, whether you're in melee or not. I'd suggest para-lag of one or two rounds duration (no timing the loot to fit an aspect). If you're bending down to grab stuff off a body, you have to stop attacking or defending yourself or casting to do it. |

I think it's a great idea!! And you could customize it too! Give thieves a skill that allows them to strip a corpse faster than a warrior would be able to. Or make it possible for a fighting class to strip off armor faster than a non fighter class. There are so many infinite possibilities! And it would be a heck of a lot fairer too. I mean, we've all been there where there's one [REDACTED] who steals all the loot and doesn't share the wealth. You learn to avoid them after awhile, but you're still screwed at the time. |

I can see the no looting while in combat. Out of combat loot lag...that's just...no. |

Ja, no looting while in melee, maybe the tick after? Or at the pulse? |

Why is a fighter faster than non fighter? That makes little sense. |
